Just mere months after Sir Paul's announcement. Maybe the "new" Capitol/Universal label will have some good plans for some reissues and unreleased tracks by Macca and the Brothers Gibb!

    A CD/digital 21-track comp, then a vinyl reissue of SNF :o

Crushingly disappointing for those of us vainly hoping the deluxe reissue series, halted at Odessa, might continue.

Could have been worse - that awful orange label from 1973 to the 80s, for example ....

I'd be happy with a simple reissue of Life In A Tin Can at this stage. I don't ask for much!

I saw this in the morning and was gonna post it here once I got home. I was fairly disappointed from the Serban mix of "Stayin' Alive", but this has pretty much killed any hope I still had for some deluxe reissues.

What are they thinking over there at Capitol? I can imagine it going something like this (sarcasm alert):
"Oh, you know that 2-disc 'Ultimate Bee Gees' compilation that did a fine job highlighting the Gibbs' careers? Yeah, let's replace that with a single disc comp with the same songs that everybody already has. Oh, and 'Saturday Night Fever'; We need to reissue that on vinyl again, because it's definitely not been repressed to death already."

Man, by the way things are going, I don't think us Bee Gees fans will ever get anymore of the great reissues that Reprise did with the first four albums. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but it's not looking good.

I still think a good reissue series will come. It makes sense for a new company to start with a hits compilation and the bands most popular album.

That compilation looks atrocious though! The Record compilation from about 15 years ago is my favourite Bee Gees one. It got me into them and from that point I bought all the early albums. I'd never heard the likes of New York Mining Disaster, Holiday, World, Jumbo, Lonely Days etc before then. It was a revelation. I could get enough of it!

I'd be happy with nice-priced reissues of Cucumber Castle and Living Eyes, the 2 albums I didn't get on CD the first time around.

Ok, I now realize this is a "tie in" to the upcoming Grammy Tribute to the Bee Gees on Easter weekend. So this comp is intended for all the new fans that watch the show and either discover the group for the first time or those who rediscover and remember just how damn good these songs were/are.

We all need to root hard for it's success so that Capitol opens the vaults with the rarities and goodies for us longer term fans.

    Oh F.F.S!

Bee Gees hits albums are like Wayans Brothers, there's too many of 'em!

Bee Gee; it's kind of like saying Isley Brother. It's only one letter, but that S makes all the difference in the world.

Yeah, that orange label was horrible looking as well, it always reminds me so many great singles from my youth, like Anne Murray's "You Won't See Me", Hurricane Smith's "Oh Babe What Would You Say" and The Raspberries "I Wanna Be With You"

they need to release they're albums similarly to how they did the Beatles catalogue, release their complete
albums in a box, and also have them available as single albums. Catalogue restored 2017 style.

Forgot to say the cover art is terrible. Looks like some sort of demented Christmas album.
