The one exception to the "One" album is "Wing and a Prayer" which sounds like it was a demo recorded at Mo's home studio. It sticks out among the other tracks and likely dug upp because WB asked for a bonus track for the CD.

It was their first all digital album recorded at Mayfair studios.

I agree with you about "Wish You Were Here" and I'm still surprised it wasn't included in Tales box (song even gets mentioned in the sets liner notes!).

It does sound different to the other tracks on the album. Apparently it was recorded in first batch of songs before they took an extended break to grieve.

Considering Tales was released by Polydor then they would in all likelihood minimise the amount of tracks licensed from another label and exclude anything that wasn't issued as a single. Thankfully we got the demo for E.S.P (another Mo garage studio track btw).

Forgot about that - good point!

Still think disc 4 was underwhelming with live tracks though.

What a great idea I've often wondered about!
Actually, asking the public for submissions of rare, home video's, photo's for inclusion for a documentary.
This is the first time I've seen it advertised for an upcoming documentary.
Mostly, it's a bunch of 'know it all's' saying 'we don't have anything'.....
    Refreshing and smart!

Yeah, disc 4 was a letdown compared to the rest. More of the singles from the solo albums, maybe demos of select tracks they produced for other artists might have been a better idea to fill it out. They honestly thought they couldn't find material from an entire decade to put on a single disc? They had nixed the inclusion Kick in the Head album unfortunately.

A stand-alone release of the ONO live tracks had been wiser at that point unless the deal with the video distributors prevented that.

I was in the official Bee Gees fan club way back when, that Bev was in charge of (I met her at a meet and greet dinner for the One Night Only concert in Vegas). I don’t recall how I got it, but I was sent two VHS tapes that were partially shot on Mo’s boat that fans were hanging out with him on. I think I got it by donating a certain amount To the Andy Gibb Foundation run through the fan club. And I still haven’t watched it! There is a ton of stuff out there; should be very interesting. Mo was really accessible to fans towards the end; not sure how they were to fans in the 70’s.

I heard Mo was seen at the MGM Grand around that concert in '97, both in the elevators and the casino. Sadly I didn't see him or get a chance to thank him for all the great music he and his brothers created.

I can top that one for disappointment...those of us that went to the pre show dinner were supposed to meet them before the concert!!!!! Imagine that. We had to settle for Beverly (ask if you don’t know who she was) and Barry’s then very young daughter (she was maybe 6 or 7). I remember it still being a good time, but everyone was obviously disappointed. Their sound check went over.

That’s too bad. I remember being very stressed because we had dinner there at Wolfgang Puck restaurant in hotel lobby, and while food was good the service was terrible and slow. I was grateful the show didn’t start right on time that night!

Very cool! Mo is my favourite Bee Gee. While never having met any of them, I've always felt Mo would have
been the greatest guy to 'hang' with. Really loved his sense of humour and personality.
    Oh......quite a talented musician too!

Did you like the concert? How were your seats? We were off to the side about half way back so they weren’t great. I heard they had to scramble to fill some seats right before it started as they didn’t want any empties, I assume because it was being filmed. I saw them in CA for the One For All tour and I think we had better seats, but I just realized I barely remember it now...weird. Maybe seeing the dvd so many times has kind of replaced the actual one I attended. I remember feeling a bit embarrassed for Barry when he started singing Alone at the Vegas gig...he was way out of tune! Same with You Should Be Dancing. I think they did some over dubs before they let that one out for the cable special! It’s still off but not as bad. Anyway, both concerts were quite a thrill for me. It’s sad seeing them all together in photos. I can’t imagine how Barry must feel. Like the Kennedy family...some bad luck there though I guess a case can be made in Andy and Mo’s situations that their life styles accelerated their demise. I need to watch that Mo tape I have. I agree with you, he seemed to be very friendly and appreciative of his stature.

Maurice died due to a twisted intestine and bowel, an inherited afliction which was also found in Robin. It had nothing to do with his alcohol addiction.

Good to know as I thought it had. I love the song he did with his kids The Bridge. I had heard it not too long ago and loved it, and didn’t even realize I had it all along on the Mythology cd.

I did - one of my bucket list items since they were my favorite group when growing up! The setlist was surprising with so many falsetto songs, and objectively those would have sounded better on the '79 and '89 tours. I'm glad to have DVD and cd of the gig as souvenirs but I rarely play either one. You have inspired me to pull it off the shelf! "Lonely Days" rocked quite a bit harder in person as did "Tragedy". The few Still Waters songs jusy sounded okay (under rehearsed ?).

Our seats were also on the side but fairly close. Unfortunately we sat in front of four grown women who annoyingly gushed about and screamed for Barry the entire show. They acted teenage girls!

Funny, I just listened to that last night. I didn't know the Bee Gees covered it. I like it too. I absolutely couldn't get enough of the version with strings from Metamorphosis.

That was so enjoyable. The interview wasn't as stiff or dry like so many interviews are and the conversation had a natural flow. The boys seemed to be having a fun time. Thanks for posting that.

Been listening to some of the Bee Gees live recordings from the 60s lately.

I really liked these from 1968:

And The Sun Will Shine is a vocal few of today's artists would even attempt much less execute live.

Night Fever" has now sold over 1 million units in the UK. Only How Deep is your love has sold more. Tragedy by Steps is the best selling Gibb single in the UK. In the US Stayin Alive is by far the biggest single having sold almost 5 million copies.

Having heard the Steps single... Yes, it is a "Tragedy". I can´t understand why it has outsold the Bee Gees´ own masterpieces. No ill will to Steps - I hope they are all doing well. But please don´t record any more Bee Gees songs. (Which is a relatively safe bet, since they have been defunct for a loong time.)
