He was one of the true greats. Glad to read that he left this world still doing what he loved, and still contributing to the enjoyment of many.

I had the privilege of going to high school with his son Morgan who passed away a few months ago at age 60. Morgan was a superlative individual who devoted his life to philanthropic causes. A wonderful reunification in Paradise.....

I always loved Beetle Bailey. I remember being blown away when I found out that Beetle and Lois from Hi and Lois were brother and sister!

Now that's a blast from the past!
What show did that used to be paired with? Like Rocky and Bullwinkle used to have Dudley D0-Right and such.

Beetle Bailey paperbacks were a fixture of a local used bookstore that closed recently (Nov. 2017 after having been open since 1948!) when the owner passed away unexpectedly. The losses seem somewhat connected amd both have made me sad, but the memories of both men and their work make me happy. Condolences to Mr. Walker's family. He definitely made an imprint. RIP

That used to be the Museum of Cartoon Art in Port Chester NY. It was literally in a castle on top of a hill and we used to call it the cartoon castle. We went there a few times as kids, it was very cool.

I didn't realize Walker was the founder - (at least one of his sons still lives in town, and his son (Mort's grandson) was in a hardcore band called Profound Anger. In Hi and Lois strips of that era, that's the name of Chip's band.)

It looks like the collection was moved to Ohio State University in 2008.
