And this seems appropriate this week: a rare shot I've never seen before of Mary Tyler Moore on the set of The Dick Van Dyke Show...

 

In a recent episode of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert", Tom Selleck talked about this particular scene (please go to the 10 minute mark)

 

Please excuse my ignorance about this, but I can't help but notice the Band/Orchestra in the back. Was this a "live studio audience" production? More to the point, was the band recorded as a part of the finished product at the time of filming, or were they there just for cue's? I'm thinking it wouldn't fly to do it twice from a budget standpoint. Enjoyable thread BTW, I really enjoy behind-the-scene's stuff.
