    But not all copies have added echo. There are complete sets of Goodman, Miller, Dorsey, etc. with no additives, though original sources presumably would have sounded better on these “Bluebird” reissues.

    I believe I read that HMV got their own metal masters for making 78s overseas, but it is unclear to me what happened to those and/or if there were subsequent LPs and CDs made from them that are superior to the LPs and CDs issued by RCA Victor here in the US.
