Catch Me If You Can - di Caprio and Walken are both great. The film gets a bit cartoonish in places but Christopher Walken really makes it real in his scenes with do Caprio.

Fred McMurray my three sons ran for 12 years.
They cut a great scene where he says they have to answer for santino. Isn't that a sign of weakness? Godfather says it is.
The scene is like less stupid to cut that scene . Like Santino daughter marrying scene. 3 minutes total

Agree. But some of the acting was a bit (ahem) "wooden".

    First one I thought of:

    Nothing in Common
    https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0091653/

Some great scenes between the two of them, and a fitting swan song for a legend (at least I think this was Jackie Gleason's last role).

    LOL, indeed it does!
Everything was right about the movie- the ages, the relationships especially. It's like this movie was made about me and and my father.

Here's another not quite father and son flick that spoke to me as a child. Adapted from a comic strip with David Janssen and Patti Page who even warbles the title tune on screen.

    Dondi (1961)

I know it was brutal, but a good movie mainly due to the cast...

Solid film. It also belongs on the list of "Movies with poor, undescriptive titles".
