This JVC amp was my best. It’s made it’s way into prime position on the rack behind.

How the two pairing working for you ? Does the XS2 control S40s sufficiently ?

Yes, definitely. The Nait has enough juice to make the Dyn's sing. It's a really nice pairing with a great sense of musical flow. I am comparing these to my Sugden A21 and Spendor A3. Those latter two bring more clarity and transparency, and a greater amount of tone and midrange focus. Different presentations but both very enjoyable. For now the Dyn/Naim combo is getting the playtime. In a month or so I plan to try Naim with Spendor.

I finally figured out how to post photos. Here are some restored AR-2ax photos:

The L-pads were in remarkable shape, only requiring some Deoxit-5 and some brushing on the contact surfaces and wipes.

Added an outdoor speaker, two speakers in one actually. Made by Paradigm.
Best acquisition because it gets used a lot.

Is the purpose of the enclosure to help protect from the weather? To not annoy the neighbors so much? Or, deflect the sound more toward the listening area?

Tried it inside first and it sounded quite neutral, but it was a bit thin sounding outside.
I built a larger 1" thick birch plywood semi enclosure. The results were quite good, added a fullness to the sound that was missing. The right side helps direct the sound slightly. [IMG]

How come you always get the ripping deal., First the JBL, now this? :wtf:
That's a very good speaker. I picked up one of those in 2006. I didn't even touch it for 2 months and one day I plugged it in to an "okay" integrated 28 watts amp and I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was really nice even on a low power system. 3 years after a friend of mine saw it on my house and wanted it. I didn't wanna sell it. but I ended up letting it go. One is I already have the speakers that I wanted and I don't even use that. 2. He's also my friend.
    3. And the last things....

Yeah, the room is dedicated so my wife doesn't care how it is arranged. Still, it's not a great place for the amp. It looks great there, but it is in harm's way being out front. Really, there is no other place to put it. It makes me nervous when my wife gets to drinking and comes gallivanting into the room. In the past she accidentally spilled beer into a tube socket on a different amp.:(

I also get nervous when she is drinking and is standing next to the right speaker talking and waving her arms, (friendly banter). I tried banning her from the room when she is drinking, but no go.;)

For me, the best acquisition is acquiring my Pickering XV-15/400 (which I use on my Technics SL-1500) and tied with it is my acquisition of 5 NOS 12AX7 tubes (one GE, 4 Sylvanias from the 1960's) to help replaced very worn tubes on my 1966 Fisher Custom Electra HiFi Console.

In addition to the Digital Motor Drive for my PolyTable, & JJ input tubes for my Jolida amp, a Hagerman Audio Labs Cornet3 phono stage has been acquired.

In the next few days, I'll be ordering new speaker wire with welded banana plugs from Blue Jeans Cable.

I don't buy much hardware, but I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 6XX headphones back in May and I like them quite a bit more than my Audio Technica ATH-R70x headphones that I had before.

I just realized I can kind of see your reflection on the transformer casing behind the left 805 power tube  congrats on the new amp she's a beaut!
