Been here about a year, and I'm finally losing my New Thread virginity, with a simple question I haven't seen asked on the forum before. We can learn of some tracks we didn't know were hidden or didn't know of at all. There are a few online databases of hidden tracks, but they don't separate the good from the bad and most hidden tracks probably aren't so good.

Someone start, please. I think I'm supposed to be active in my own thread, and I'll be back later with a few hidden tracks that I like a lot.

I hadn't even heard of the collection before. (I'm fairly knowledgeable about Bruce Springsteen and can name most of his singles.)

That it's a hidden track on a compilation means one of my favorite hidden tracks isn't unique in that sense. U2, with "October," hidden at the end of Disc 1 of The Best of 1980–1990. It's one of my favorite very short songs recorded during my lifetime.

The other is why I made the thread. Someone on the forum mentioned Collective Soul's "She Said" as hidden at the end of Dosage (which I have and knew) as well as released prior in a slightly different version on the Scream 2 soundtrack and as a single. It's weaker than most Collective Soul singles, but still a nice song.

This is one that probably no one else besides me will care about, but my favorite hidden track is the one on D Generation's No Lunch album. It's just Jesse Malin having a conversation with his grandfather but it's really hilarious. And they have a great one on their next album now that I think of it. It's a cover of Neil Young's Don't Be Denied.

I don't own it but the hidden 5.1 Animals mix has to be the best hidden surprise ever.

I think the one on Nirvana's Nevermind album perhaps isn't worth waiting for and maybe the one on Damien Rice's O album might be.

This one — the untitled track 11 from REM’s Green — is my favorite. A touching sentiment and a terrific vocal packaged up in a very pretty little tune. For me, it’s one of the album’s top songs.

Cracker's "Eurotrash Girl" was a hidden track that actually got radio airplay!

The Dave Mathews Band -Remember Two Things also had a "secret" track after a minute or so of silence IIRC. It was an instrumental piece can't recall for sure on this though.

  21. My favourite example has to be Me, White Noise, which is hidden in a pre-gap section at the very start of Blur's Think Tank album...
