Too bad this one isn't on Youtube: Neil Young- Rockin' In The Free World Live (SNL 1989) - Video Dailymotion »
I love watching Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison/The Doors on youtube. Their appearence while they were here was so cosmic and otherworldy.
I agree with the announcer on this performance. From about 1:40-1:59 Elvis is someplace else other than this world. At his best he could take you to church and land you in heaven. One of the most powerfully moving performances by anyone..
The performer manages to get tedium down to a fine art with that one. Is this a joke? Maybe its just my taste in music. I'm getting more selective in my musical choices. He should have at least used a couple of phones instead of one to make the video. Sorry.
Concrete Blonde - Jenny I Read. One of the best songs by one of my favorite bands ever, delivered with perfect measures of passion, intensity, and restraint.
I like this one because it seems to encapsulate the fan and the star. The performance is the epitamy of what rock n roll must have been like then. Pure fun.
Maybe the actual performance ain't their best....but the body language...they enjoyed the hell out of it
