    They have been around since the late 80s, but I think their new record is my favorite of 2019.

    Death metal isn't typically my thing, but there's something about Tomb Mold that makes it work. Some common criticism I've seen for the band is they're not innovative enough, which leads me to believe this band's strength comes down to them really nailing down the foundations without any offensive or extraneous parts. Maybe they're not treading new ground (yet), but they've put together all the right pieces to create something that appeals to me. I might still be too intimidated to go to their show, though.

    Maybe you're ready for one of the greatest and headiest albums of all-time.

    I agree, this is a good album. Not so good when driving, however. I find it too distracting.

    Killer record. I too am really hit or miss on death metal, mostly miss. I still find lots of albums to love from the doom, black, stoner and countless other metal subgenres, but it takes something really special from a death metal band to grab my attention. I think they started out great and have only gotten better with each new record.

    The last one didn't do much for me honestly, but goodness the new Bon Iver is great. Just wrapping my first listen and diving back in for run through number two.

    Out of the few I’ve bought that were released this year, Western Stars.
    Just a terrific album, more so since I’d long ago given up on Springsteen.

    Looking forward to Opeth’s new one next month.

    So far, Ringworm - "Death Becomes My Voice" is the only new release I have truly enjoyed this year. I am going to go out on a limb and say that Tool - "Fear Inoculum" will more then likely be the winner this year for me.

    The new Bon Iver (i,i) is crazy good. He's really pushing the envelope in how he's blending experimental electronic sounds/collages with more conventional poppier song structures, creating a hot and bubbling melting pot of influences (soul/r'n'b being the standout). More accessible than his previous album (22, A million) but just as rich and intriguing, sonically.

    One of my favorites so far this year!

    I'm really enjoying Dirty Honey's self-titled album that came out in May. They remind me of an old school rock band & I love that sound.

    For sure. I can’t stop listening to it; I really enjoyed his first few albums, but this one is really great. The song you quoted is so great to just drive around turned way up, great summer vibe.

    I've been playing this quite a bit the last week. A solid offering, well played, with some good songs to boot.

    From Manchester and apparently not that well known W.H. Lung, reminds me of Neu meets LCD System on their debut Incidental Music;

    Nice find that, a belter. Just listening to the full album now and it has made it onto the very select list of only four new records I've bought this year so far. Cheers.

    I was late to the party and missed them playing Band On The Wall in Manchester, those who made it tell me incredible live band with a front man who reminds you of Ian Curtis, still kicking myself.
