Best rock reference books?

    I seem to remember this one was really good, but I lost it decades ago. I'll probably pick it up again, as it's not too dear on the second hand market. Published in 1980.

    I love those Pete Frame books. Do you have his other books? I think I have 3 others.

    I’d echo earlier comments and support for the Martin C Strong books, especially the “Essential Rock Discography”. The detailed research is phenomenal, with dates for all the bands and artists of their US and UK releases for every album; track listing for every album in chronological order; and every album of note reviewed in the covering band summary/history and all scored out of 10.
