That Robe track is outstanding.

 

Some good stuff here. particularly Tokyo Jihen, The Dresscodes (you wait all year for a band to use a megaphone then two come along at once! ) and Wagakki Band. Love the latter's mix of contemporary & traditional.

 

Didn't realize Helloween were still popular in the UK. Good for them.

Wasn't aware of any sort of Bellowhead reuinion either. Never much of a fan though. Individually, there a surfeit of talent in the band but together they just seem to come up with an ill-disciplined, cacophonous mess. Thousand of UK folk fans would disagree though, I know.

 

Nice to see Brittney Hayes singing on the new Avalon track. She works well in tandem with Jake E.

 

Great to see Styx in a couple of these charts. Their new record is terrific.

The other two that really held my attention here were the Slut song which felt like a long lost Buggles track and Subway To Sally, who are really interesting. Even though they use a lot of traditional instruments, they'd never be mistaken for a folk band but the way they help lighten the meat 'n' potatoes punk/metal material is fascinating.

 

I continue to be impressed by Rise Against & Edmund. Very different styles but both excellent. Really enjoyed Bunspecht too. They sound like The Hooters if the latter had pursued a new wave rather than folk-rock direction.

 

Crowne look like one of Frontiers' supergroup projects. I recognized John Leven from Europe but I don't know much about the others involved. Members of H.E.A.T., The Poodles and Art Nation, seemingly. Good song though.

The Kent Hilli track was a nice, old fashioned slice of AOR. Enjoyed that.

Interesting to see Timo's Avalon chart higher here than in Finland. Obviously, I'm not sure how the sales translate.

Glad to hear you dug all of those along with songs from the other charts. There's just a ton of music out there making the charts of real interest, much of which doesn't get even a single mention in the forum outside of this thread

 

I think the Helloween album has done incredibly well around the world which would surprise a lot of people if they bothered to look

I'm with you on Bellowhead but it's still nice to see it make the charts
