Not just a cool song but a whole philosophy - break on through to other side, yeah.

My favourite Zappa opening is the first minute of Transylvania Boogie from Chunga’s Revenge, more specifically the first four bars with the guitar tone and Aynsley Dunbar’s kick drum foot. The solo and the album go a bit downhill after that but this type of jamming is what I’m looking forward to in the next boxset release.

I love this as the opener...that riff, the cacophony of horns. The boogie woogie piano (Nicky?) Mick's lazy turned to frenetic delivery. The whole song just builds and builds.

    The dreamy mesmerized/hypnotized sequence.

The "sunshine bores the daylights out of me", "I only come when she pirouette's over me", "kicked me like you did before, I can't even feel the pain no more", "I only get my rocks off while I'm sleepin'" lyrics.

It promises an album for the ages and delivers. ROCKS OFF!

I've always like how Oasis' debut album kicked off with "Rock 'N Roll Star", quite the statement

    I agree. Hard to beat.

I've always felt that CCR's " I Put A Spell On You" from their debut album hits pretty hard as an intro to the band. When Fogerty's voice comes in it's like, "OK, deal with this."

I love the Ventures drummer, the late Mel Taylor !
Some may not know Mel was the older brother of Canned Heat bassist Larry Taylor.
