Better Call Saul - Season Four Discussion & Digestion

We see Gene sitting in his big house, watching TV. All of a sudden there's a knock on the door. Oh, no. Who's this? The jig is up! He cautiously opens the door. It's the partially decomposed body of Walter! "This series isn't over until I say it's over!", he hisses through clenched, decayed teeth. "So whaddya got in the fridge? I'm starving. Any of those cinnabons lying around? By the way, where's that Kim chick? Oh yeah. Guess what. Her contract expired. Wanna know something? I let it. I was there. I just sat in Gilligan's office and watched it die . . ."

 

Have you not read the recent Bryan Cranston interview?

Couple of months back regards to his character being dead. Bryan Cranston “ did you see my corpse “ or funeral”??? He was in theory dying( cancer ) + gunshot wound. Logic suggests WW is dead that was the shows climax. Only thing I can think of is him leaving Pinkman video instructions.

 

Interesting theory, but how did he get a video to Pinkman? I recall him driving away at the end - a nice homage to the Prisoner finale, I thought - but in whose car? Unless he cuts a deal with prosecutors, goes the way of Saul, or gets killed by the cartel, I don’t see any future for Pinkman except some serious jail time.

So what does White tell him? What are his instructions? Do they need to reshoot portions of the final episode to show us how he provided for getting this video/message to Pinkman? The idea of reworking portions of the final episode as a segue between the series and movie is appealing.

 

*knock knock*

Gene: "Uhmm..who is it?"

Zombie Walter: "..candygram"

Gene: "Who...what..?"

Zombie Walter: "Pizza delivery.."

 

Speaking of BCS, I just finished rewatching the movie Network. I had no idea Jimmy's "you have messed with the primal forces of nature" speech in season one came from that movie. Great stuff!

 

Yep. Jimmy uses several pop culture references. I dont think Howard and the stoics got the reference from Network.

I hear season 6 is set to air in 2028.

 

remember when a series would churn them out.....Cannon puts out 24 episodes one season...takes a 3 month break and films another 24! nowadays you get 8 and wait 3 years for something. but not many have frank cannons work ethic, or appetite. that's fine saul…..we'll wait. at least animal kingdom is back....and maybe fargo someday

Just binged watch it, over in the blink of a eye ..so good. My favourite season so far.
Lavell Crawford lost weight playing Huell...hilarious episode.

Is Kim going to die?

 

Part of me thinks that is the obvious course for the writers to take, as it would explain both why she is never in Breaking Bad and why Jimmy goes full Saul (it may seem like he did already at the end of last season, but he really has a ways to go before he is the criminal that Saul was in BB). But Kim is such a beloved character now, that I think the audience would react too much to that. So I am guessing she will go away but not die.

 

Might meet up in BB the movie.

 

Who was the taxi driver that kept staring at Jimmy McGill.

 

I personally think that was just a "red herring."
