Anyone else excited for Beyonce's eighth studio album coming out on Friday 29 March.

Rumoured to feature a collaboration with Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson and possibly other collabs. Rumours Gaga might be on it but that's not confirmed.

She's just dropped the tracklist on instagram, as well as some of the artists she's covering/collaborating with.

That's good news! I always think artists should make albums for themselves rather than aim to make an album based on a particular genre. So it should be a 'Beyonce' album rather than a 'country' album.

Only two tracks are out and your already writing it off? It was never going to be a full on country album given she's a well established R&B singer influenced pop singer- so those R&B's were going to be in there. It's a bit like her supposed house album for Act I it'll actually dive into several different genres. I actually quite like Texas Hold 'Em - it's definitely better than other recent No 1 singles. 16 Carriages is a bit naff. She's openly stated not all the songs are country, so it'll probably have a more broad 'Beyonce' sound.

You’re the one asking if we’re excited. If we’re not excited we get lectured to?

i'm sorry, but if you rhyme "texas" with "lexus", unironically, you're dead to me.

Pretty sure folks on here would have rejected the idea when it was just mentioned as s thing that might happen. At least now any trashing is based on having gotten a sample.

I haven't heard much of anything that's labeled as "country" in the mainstream in MANY years that actually is country music.

It’s got “alphabet overload” with too many “i”s in the Song Tiitles and it’s straining my eyes.

Maybe someone can correct the thread title?

As clever an alternative title as "CowBEY Carter" might be, the title is actually "CowBOY Carter"...

speaking only for myself, i'll give any artist a chance to try anything they want. and of course it doesn't matter what the hell i think about this album, it will be huge. it's music for the masses, and they're already on board 100 percent. ironically, a lot of THOSE folks will embrace anything she does before they even hear it. that's the society we live in...some have blind loyalty to their idols.

There was recent speculation Beyonce and Gaga were collaborating on something... a "Telephone" sequel would rule.

I think "Single Lady" is a very interesting song, musically. I also like her rendition of "At last". It's "our song" for me and my wife. We met at our 25th high school reunion, about 27 years ago.

But the rest of her catalogue, Meh.

But to be fair to her, as I get older, I get more discerning regarding what I like.

It would rule but it doesn't look to be on this album sadly.

I wasn't lecturing you. Everybody's entitled to an opinion. If it's not for you it's not for you. I just don't see how you can judge an album on 2 songs fairly.

I‘m really not a fan of her because I personally prefer songwriters like Taylor Swift or Lana Del Rey to „pure“ performers like her, but I‘m looking forward to her cover of „Blackbird“;)
