I made it a point to make sure my wife was aware of every record I sold to pay for mine. "Yeah, I know you're using the computer for work, but can you please print out another shipping label for me? Sold another record, you know. For that box set. That I am buying. At a price I shall fail to mention. But that will be paid for using the money I'm making selling yet another record."
Oh, she would not care about the $ expenditure. I mean I could teach her to handle the lp rotation so I don't have to keep getting up. She's a CPA and we pay our taxes
We are sharing with others. Given the expense of this box set - which you, just as much as others, have denounced - we're sharing tips on how to make it fit into people's budgets so they can hear the glorious music of Bill Evans in one of the best presentations of it to be found. There's another thread just on Bill Evans where I and others here have also discussed the music itself. But given that this is the box set thread, it makes sense that people here are discussing at times the box set as a product. Shoot, you're the one who brought up the IRS and private collections. Can't get more business-y than that.
Wow, these records sound ****ing fantastic! Finishing Portrait In Jazz right now and then the weekend marathon will continue!!
this is up for (pre) order at @The 'In' Groove (Pre Order) Bill Evans - Riverside Recordings - Analogue Productions L good way to save a couple bucks
Ya and the savings can be used to pay for his ultrasonic cleaning. Pretty cheap insurance considering they inspect the discs. If I would have known I would have waited and ponied up the extra bucks for a perfect set.
Cmon Elusive Disc for free ship and no tax! But i guess if retailers are getting them they must not have sold 2/3+ Like chad said
Right. I bought 'Are you experienced' UHQR April. It was 'limited stock'. Still there today. He's just trying to create hype.
yeah but I believe shipping was only $14 and I’d rather order from the company producing the records in case there is an issue.
The ultrasonic cleaning was $8 per disc so that’s approximately $176 for the set. Spin Clean will do just fine for me.
I have an ultrasonic and still would pay it to save the hassle of assembling a perfect set. My set was $1k after shipping and tax. $76 over that for a set cleaned and inspected and defects replaced by in groove if necessary... Ya that's worth my time. Lesson learned for next time.
thats one thing i dont understand, so outnof 22 lps if he finds one that he finds unacceptable hes going to open another set to get a new record and then make that set incomplete? And then go back and forth with AS for replacements? Seems crazy
I agree, but did the Ingroove say that the ultrasonic cleaning service includes visual inspection and replacement if needed?
