You might be good enough to be in the eagles

 

Considering early Eagles with Bernie Leadon, I thought the original statement made sense.

 

That version of the band is harder to get into

 

I wouldn't wish playing in the Eagles on my worst enemy.

Between all the buzz around these parts and Phish Twitter, I figured I need to give this guy a go. Just ordered HOME, but it sounds like I might need to hit up Relisten for a few shows too.

 

The records are great , but much like the Dead it's the live shows that are really where it's at. Billy is a dynamic performer and superior soloist, the band is rock solid, and the stretched out versions of songs like Meet Me At The Creek and Tinfoil and Turmoil are just mind blowing.

Having said that, the records are excellent and well worth getting.

I brought the new album in from the garage this morning and gave it a listen in my main room. After listening to the Nugs shows on that rig for the past couple months, one of the the things that is really different is the sound of the instruments. Microphones vs. pickups and pedals combined with the silence of a studio gives the tone of the instrument more dynamics. Much less face melting trippin balls and more Eagles with Bernie Leaden.

 

That made me laugh out loud.

I've been listening to nothing but the shows for a week, but I'm going to spin the records tonight. I need an Eagles fix.

 

First, build a time machine.

After that it's just a matter of picking your moment.

Listened to this one today. Wow, the second set jams were hot, including a 17-minute Red Rocking Chair>Planet Caravan(!)>Southern Flavor.

 

Ive been enjoying the second night of Cambridge, those weirdo covers and guests are entertaining. The WSP cover “funky bitch” is fun. And I dig a nice bluegrass flute.

 

I need to hear that one in its entirety. Such a great run of shows, with a little something different every night.
