He played Letter to Seymour when i saw him last year. They’re all Michigan guys and have known each other for a long time. Not surprising. Kind of like Jonathan Davis who was in Stepping In It (or was it Steppin’ Out?) regardless, Greensky does his Last Winter in the Copper Country. Pure Michigan.
Amazing how much great bluegrass comes out of Michigan. I buy a lot of bluegrass records when I’m in Toledo, all kinds of regional acts and labels in the bins.
Thanks, I’m doing all I can but being a star has never been my goal. I just want to be the best at listening to music.
Which it now is. Who's on the fiddle? Maybe it says on nugs and I haven't noticed. Side note- can't disagree with Bill's welcome- it is always nice to be in Portland.
Nope - just that he played on the album too. Hope he's with Bill when I see him/them on Oct 19 in Houston. Edit - a quick google thing makes it seem he plays with Molly Tuttle so I guess that's the link.
As my listen to Thursday night's show draws to an end, I have just looked at last night's 'album release' show at the same Portland venue. All of new album in set 2. I say release both nights in a vinyl box set and watch me drool.
The second night of the Portland show was an “album release party”, they played the new album start to finish in the second set. It is absolutely outstanding. I do like the new album but the added dimension of the live setting and the exploratory nature of the material came together in an amazing way.
Ordered the LP last night after I realized from this thread that there was finally something on vinyl from him. Oddly enough Amazon says over 3 weeks before it is delivered?
