Best of was never a cutout.

The Private Stock issue of the first was a cutout, as were Autoamerican and The Hunter. There were also limited cutout copies of Eat to the Beat.

Red edition of the 4LP bonus track-only version up at Sound Of Vinyl.

And a list of the box set’s bonus tracks from SuperDeluxeEdition (apparently on the 8CD version 35 of the bonus tracks are on the CDs of the albums and the rest on two bonus discs)

Pre-order placed with Numero for the SuperDeluxe LP set on Colored Vinyl. I have the previous Blondie LP box released some time ago. But I had to have this as well. I will probably get the CD set as well, but I'm not going to pre-order.

The last time I pre-ordered something direct from Numero, it had a street date in March 2022. I ordered in January 2022. And they shipped it to me a month before it was available anywhere else. Hoping the same happens with the Blondie box!! (Probably not).

He joined Blondie for one or more live concerts. They played songs like the cover "Heroes" which became also a b-side on a 12' of Blondie.

On Fade Away & Radiate. The only other time he played with them was live (I think) and there isn’t any live material in the box.

    Hey fellow Blondie fans,

I've been tasked by some non fan friends of mine to come up with a mix-tape of 13 Blondie songs (The Dream Thirteen as we are calling it) that best represents what Blondie has to offer. We do this for other bands as well, and have some rules:

    1) There must be 3 songs from each of the first 4 albums' original issue. (in Blondie's case I chose the first 4 albums, other groups have different rules etc)
    2) One additional wildcard song is allowed, from any album
    3) The goal is to convert people into fans of the band if possible, so it should be a mix of popular and any deep cuts that show off the band.

I find this task insanely hard, since I really like almost every song on the first 4 records, but. Here is my personal list so far:

    Debut:
    X Offender
    Rip Her to Shreds
    Kung Fu Girls

    Plastic Letters
    No Imagination
    Fan Mail
Bermuda Triangle Blues (Flight 45) )

    Parallel Lines
    Picture This
    Fade Away and Radiate
    One Way or Another

    Eat to The Beat
    Dreaming
    Union City Blue
    Accidents Never Happen

    Wildcard:
    Maria

I decided to exclude some more famous songs in favor of some deeper, more diverse cuts, That includes Denis, Atomic, The Tide is High, Call Me etc. I decided to include my absolute fav Blondie song as well - Union City Blue

So what would your Dream Thirteen be? No right or wrong answers, its' all in the name of fun

I like that all of the rarities are on a 3 CD set all together - I could see myself playing that more than the big box. Blondie was also the first band that I ever got into, so I make exceptions for them. :)

I do hope that that the mastering is done well. I have multiple versions of all of those albums on CD. Books look great..

Normally I would just get the 8 CD set for most bands that I am into to.

I really would like that discography book though!

My Blondie holy grail was the near life-size Plastic Letters promo stand-up as seen in Fast Times. I finally found one in not great shape for under $20 at a swap meet in the 90's. Will never get rid of that!

I wonder if there ever would be a live compilation if this does well. I would be all over that too, especially if it had video content.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. With all the rarities being made available separately I'm wondering if I'd be better off purchasing the best masters of certain titles. Is the Blondie catalog well represented (mastered) on CD?

All great choices.. It's very hard to go wrong with the first 4 records, since they had so many solid songs. I Included the quirky Kung Fu Girls to represent their more punkish origins, but Look Good in Blue might have been my next choice after that.

I love Hanging on the Telephone; it's one of my fav Blondie songs, but I think Fade Away is just so surreal and moody that I wanted to include it. The great drum intro and Fripp's guitar work is stellar. I did include a heavier/faster song in Accidents Never Happen, which is really catchy. Again, those great drums. Clem Burke really helped solidify that Blondie sound, and the musicianship in the band was often overshadowed by Debby's look and persona.

Union City Blue is my favorite song of theirs, but it's almost unknown outside of Blondie fans. It's melancholic and epic at the same time. The rhythm her voice takes and rises in the lines "Tunnel to the other side/It becomes daylight/I say he's mine" and the again in "Arrive, climb up four flights/To the orange side/Rearrange my mind" sort of makes the song for me

I noticed you also didn't include the super popular songs either, aside from Dreaming (which we both picked) and which was reasonably well known as I recall.

Youth Nabbed By Sniper, Detroit 442, Slow Motion are all really great and would have made my list if there was a little more room. I really love the 1975 demo The Thin Line as well, but it wasn't in within the rules my buddies and I set up. Of course those "rules" are all arbitrary in the first place lol.

I’ve preordered the 8 CD box set. It looks like is well done.
I wish they would issue a Blu-ray history of the band to go along with it . Plenty of live footage out and most Blondie DVDs are out of print.
