Moderator note: Lots of developments on the release of this material while it was still "wet cement". I don't know anyone waiting for the EP, but the vinyl box could be nice if done work audiophile care.
I have the box set they released a couple of years ago - it sounded fine, but the box was so narrow, I couldn’t get all of the albums back in once I took them out. I don’t think it sold very well, as it was heavily discounted.
£20 for a 12 " single!..doesn't bode well for the album box set price does it? I'd consider the album box set if it's priced around £100, anything over that and I'll probably give it a miss since I already own all the albums and singles anyway.
Interesting how Gary Valentine is no longer a member of the band. At least as far as that photo goes.
Gary Valentine had left by the time the classic line-up pictured was together so it would be odd to photoshop him onto the end of the line.
True. But this is a retrospective, and Valentine was part of the band for a while, so they could have done something else with the cover. Maybe something a la Roy Lichtenstein.
Awesome! I don't have any of their records yet, so... think I gonna buy this. [Edit:] 'All digital formats' probably means MP3, AAC, FLAC, ALAC and WAV. So there will be lossy, lossless (and hi-res?) versions of the albums.
I was just playing Eat to the Beat last night. Good dynamics on the lp, but nothing to write home about. I just might be interested in a set redone from the original tapes, as they’re saying it will be.
The 12 inch looks good fun and I have ordered from their website. Delivery from the UK - so that is good. Bit of a long wait until the box of recordings though. Ah well. On a different note what do folk think of the recent vinyl reissues of the 6 albums and I am assuming the titles individually are the same pressings/masters as those in the albums box?
