A little help for my daughters homework please - after blues songs about relationship break ups, specifically the lady leaving the man.

A few suggestions would be helpful and then she has to compose one of her own!

    Thanks

Ray Charles / Drown In My Own Tears...the title says it all, the ultimate in defeat & exactly what your daughter is seeking

There are many more but this song is definitive

My 2nd suggestion is Fleetwood Mac/ Love That Burns...Peter Greens performance is astounding, one of if not his best studio work

Well, since my baby left me
Well, I found a new place to dwell
Well, it's down at the end of Lonely Street
    At Heartbreak Hotel
Where I'll be--where I get so lonely, baby
    Well, I'm so lonely
I get so lonely, I could die

Not as bluesy as some, but a classic.

First one that came to mind was ‘Sure Got Cold After the Rain Fell’ by ZZ Top - an absolutely beautiful song

    I want you back again
    I want your love again
I know you find it hard to reason with me
But this time it's different, darling you'll see
You gotta tell me you're coming back to me
You gotta tell me you're coming back to me
You gotta tell me you're coming back to me
You gotta tell me you're coming back to me
    You said we're through before
You walked out on me before
I tried to tell you, but you didn't want to know
This time you're different and determined to go

Its originally a Bo Diddley song & his version is definitive, IMO

Sorry, missed the "bluesy" part. Must have been in a good broken heart mood.

'Whipping Post' by the Allman Bros describes a situation even worse.

She took all my money, wrecks my new car.
Now she's with one of my good time buddies,
They're drinkin' in some cross-town bar.
