I'd love some of that stuff too (although I can't imagine we're getting any more Basements), but I'd rather have the set be all 1964 stuff that's uncirculating! Plenty of time for 1965 and beyond.

My source is pretty reliable as it came direct from Sony!.
I was a little concerned by the lack of information beyond what i originally posted, but i'm guessing this release is intended to be as under the radar as possible. Heaven forbid anyone actually wanting to buy the thing!

Technically the announcement is for 'a 9 piece LP vinyl in a slipcase' - nowhere does it say it will be 9 LP set, although that's a logical inference. Still it's somewhat ambiguous.

    Maybe it's nine 7" singles.

I think they should be releasing limited editions of a 'Complete 196x' set every year, with everything, in order, on LP and digital. Really go the archival route. Why not? People would buy it.

You guys are over thinking this. Alan Ginsberg's 5 hour tape of giggling from the Plaza Hotel Beatle summit was sold to Dylan's estate last year...

Given Badlands in the UK have had the previous issues I guess they will have this one. I know last year they definitely sent out an e-mail prior to selling it to their mailing list about the selling arrangements and I am pretty sure they did the year before as well, so what I'm saying is if you want this then go and sign-up to their mailing list as you have nothing to loose.

The photo is hard to read, but basically this has everything that was speculated -- a number of TV performances, Another Side outtakes, the Von Schmidt tape(!), the Royal Festival Hall show(!), Newport and the rest. I am speechless.

As you can see from the two dates I've just written - I was about to go through it as well - but yes - what an amazing set! The Von Schmidt tape - I don't even care if it's barely audible, that's unbelievable stuff. I can't wait to some how hear this!

They have also included the long false starts from the studio sessions. Pity that it's not a digital release.

    Thank you kindly.

I'm still coughing up a lung after literally running across central Manchester to Piccadilly Records. There was another Dylan fan arrived seconds after me, so I was very lucky.

I'm back at my desk, but, if I get the chance later, I'll post some photos of the rear insert.

There goes the theory that they would never release previously umbootlegged material.

Another Copyright Extension release I will be observing helplessly from the sidelines. Yes, I know I will be able to get a needledrop of this somewhere eventually, but I'm one of those weirdos who actually likes to properly OWN his music. For all the complaining about lossy digital releases that goes on around here, I'd give anything for an iTunes release of this set. Not really a big deal for the 1964 release, which is impressive but probably Bob's least productive year of the 1960s (aside from 1968, of course). But my disappointment will be a VERY big deal in 2015 and 2016, when some amazing stuff should come out on these year-end copyright dumps.

Hmmm. I think Piccadilly may have broken an embargo there......

I just rang my local store who I buy all my new releases from - they've let me pay over the phone (£89.99) so have secured it, but there's no way that they will let me pick it up before Monday. To paraphrase, they were given 'all kinds of weird' restrictions on what they had to do in order to be allowed to carry it.
