It’s amusing how folks think the music they grew up with - like Pixies which is now close to or more than 30 years old - is still somehow modern no matter how old it is. Pixies or Nirvana is no more modern now than, say, the Stones were in the mid-90s. MFSL did release Nirvana’s studio albums - about 20 or so years ago when Nirvana was actually still fairly modern.
Just went ahead and ordered on Music Direct, myself. Dithered a while as I have the MSFL 33 that I like, but I do really like The Nightflly One-Step (my only other one). I anticipate (hope) it sounds better at 45rpm as do my other 45 variants vs. 33 remasters (e.g., rumours, pet sounds, tillerman). this makes five MSFL's I'm waiting on (Dire Straits 1-4...not holding my breath).
I didn't think it was out until late August. I have it preordered on Amazon.ca, but thought I still had weeks to cancel if I change my mind.
I received an E-mail from Mobile Fidelity this morning listing this as shipped along with another purchase. Tracking says package will be here Monday. All I can tell you. I'll report back when the package arrives.
Mine also says "backordered". I wasn't really expecting this to come out anytime soon but it would nice to be surprised.
I have read that this is a flaw (feature) in the MoFi system. When you have multiple items in with a one step order, when the in stock item ships, everything gets marked shipped even if the one step didn’t actually ship.
I had to cancel my order...have to be responsible -_- Hopefully I can pick it up later for the same price. doubtful
I've seen on the Mofi facebook group that there's a bit of a delay with BOTT, and have heard from another source the same, so might be closer to a Fall release.
So that's kind of a lot, I think. For RSD, 5000 of CSNY's 4-Way Street were pressed. Cut by Chris Bellman from the original master tapes, it's a very good sounding record. They're having a tough time selling it out.
I agree. 9000 is pretty ambitious for a $125 record. Especially one where the original sounds great and can usually be found for under $50. I'm not sure I buy this latest post on Mofi's Facebook: "COMING SOON AND NEARLY GONE! Bob Dylan’s ‘Blood on the Tracks’ Ultradisc One-Step Box from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab! If you are waiting to pre-order your copy of MoFi’s UD1S release of Bob Dylan’s classic ‘Blood on the Tracks’ it might be time to stop waiting and start ordering. The box is coming soon, and available copies are beginning to run low. As with our previous UD1S releases, demand on this has been high, and we are expecting to sell out."
