Rumors that I know from this forum indicate that The Rolling Thunder tour would be coming soon, but not as a Bootleg Series, but probably in a separate series like the 1966 tour box.

I dont think video stuff like the Rolling Thunder tour will be put into a box set from the Bootleg Series. It will be like Paul McCartney Rockshow movie, release separately from the Wings Over America boxset, with cinemas screenings.

I like rumors. They are much more enjoyable than false information.

Why only 20 discs? don't you like the 1978 tour?

I want complete audio of all 57 Rolling Thunder shows. I'd give an organ for it.

Organs or shows? I try to only go after officially released recordings. Though I have stumbled upon a few not so official lp's in recent years.

If that comes to fruition, it may end up being among the very best Bob Dylan box sets issued, and there have been a number of incredible sets issued over the years.

With a little looking, I can get an organ for $20 at a garage sale. I'd even trade two organs for a CD box of all 57 shows, but with the deluxe book, the set of 6 never-before-seen postcards and the little replica hat and bandana like he wore on tour.

A little looking will only get you a little organ.

With a lot of looking, I can get a huge antique gas pump, which is a very large organ indeed

Many of the 1975 RTR shows were four hours long if you include all the supporting acts. The 1976 RTR was considerably shorter.

A handful of 1975 RTR shows didn't get recorded. I'd say only half the 1976 shows were recorded. Collectors have tried chasing them down for forty years.

I have all the known audience and board recordings of the RTR in the best available quality. Some video, as well. So there.

I'd want a bottle of whatever Dylan wore on his face during that tour so I could wear it while I listened.

Would be nice to see an official release of Renaldo and Clara in good quality.

I took my sister to see it when it came out, not sure if she has forgiven me!

Did you take her to see the four-hour version released in February or the two-hour version released in the fall?

I would take an actual complete concert film over any upgraded version of Renaldo and Clara any day

Wasn't there two televised specials from Rolling Thunder? I'd love to have those, or any footage from that tour. (Not to mention the 74 tour)

Must be a good bet if that documentary comes out. Maybe they squeeze BOTT in first in 2018. These documentaries can take time to produce I'd guess.

Could this be a clue that a Rolling Thunder / Some kind of live '70s thing might be coming next year?

Already, two projects are in the works based on materials from the archive. Historian and Rolling Stone contributor Douglas Brinkley is working on a new book, Dusty Sweatbox Blues: Bob Dylan and the Open Road 1974 - 1978, about Dylan's mid-Seventies output that's expected to be published in 2018.

Rumour is that the next Bootleg Series will be a five disc box set of Shadows In The Night outtakes.
