Anyone else find this somewhat hard to read?

    1. Little bit of rain, little bit of sorrow in my heart (2)
I been waiting all day for the clouds to burst apart

    2. Been thinking about you gal, it's just making me wet
I's gonna sit down and write you a letter, but anytime I do I just break into a sweat

    3. Maybe I'm bad baby, maybe I'm crazy too
Maybe there's no good in me at all except my love for you
If there's no good in me at all, at least there my love for you

    4.

    5. I can't drift (stay) forever in the wh-i-t-e night (2)
either say yes or no doctor, and no need to be polite

    6. Lil' Rooster crowing - must be something on his mind

    1. Meet you in the morning
I can't see the forest too many trees in the way
    I was gonna
    pack your traveling bag babe
you been away from me too long

    ---
    Corrections welcome!

I'm assuming this is an early draft of what became Meet me in the morning and can hear it being sung like that.

    every time

    darlin', aint

There are two (or three) words below verse 3 and above verse 5 that I still can't make out and which you've (wisely) avoided :). It's probably an idea for the absent verse 4 or an idea for the last line in verse 3. The first word is likely to be "my" but I can't get the other(s) just yet.

I haven't listened to the box set since it came out.
Up To Me was great as was the next-to-last version of Simple Twist of Fate,
but the whole thing was a giant failure.
I'll take my boot of the test pressing version anytime over this giant waste of money.

At least there is not any philosophy

    Or

[squiggle] best there is [squiggle] my philosophy

    Which would be reminisicent of:

You can have the best there is
But it’s gonna cost you all your love

I don't think this set has sold as expected, either. It was stated "strictly limited" release (no quantity indicated), but the price has plunged (as has the Trouble No More set) to $81.xx on Amazon, WAY down from the issue price. I seem to recall that a "good" pre-order price for this was in the $120's. Feel bad for regular folks who ordered at issue price. IMO, both this set and Trouble No More are both fails non completest fans. Might feel differently had the "real" test pressing versions of the songs that you mention been included. Oh well.

thank you, tim and percy, for your transcriptions/corrections.
    here are my suggestions:

    1/line 1 - lil' bit
    1/line 2 - break apart
    3/line 3 - there is my
4 - "my philosophy" doesn't look bad to me ...

Best release of the year for me. But ... tastes vary.

Agree with the first three lines.

I don't agree with "philosophy", though. I'd posit the first letter in that word is an "f", not a "p".

Oh, come on now. Those solo performances on Disc 1 are just a pile of hot garbage.

One man's giant waste of money is another woman's treasure trove. The test pressing is a treasure trove too, of course.

I don't quite agree with it either ;)
The first letter doesn't look much like the f of "forest" to me,
on the other hand I can't really identify the 2nd p in "philosophy"...

Has it been established which tracks correspond to the BS 1-3 versions? I know there was some incorrect information in the book/official website...

Yes. The BS1-3 "If You See Her, Say Hello" is correctly identified on the box - Take 2, 9/16/74 (the box has a different mix). "Call Letter Blues" is correctly identified - Take 2, 9/16/74 (the box has a different mix with a different pedal steel overdub used). The BS1-3 "Tangled Up in Blue" and "Idiot Wind" are both incorrectly identified on the box and are both the victims of unfortunate and unnecessary splices. "Idiot Wind" is Take 6 from 9/16/74, "Tanged Up in Blue" is Take 3, Remake from 9/17/74. The unadulterated versions can only be found on BS1-3.

I was under the impression that while MMITM-Take 1 has an alternate overdub on the box, the one on CLB was the same. Is this inaccurate?

In some songs the musicians did multiple overdub takes, and different takes appear in these mixes compared to the old mixes that have circulated.

Absolutely correct! That's what I get for writing "from the hip". You're right, I'm wrong.

I won the gamble of waiting for Trouble No More and More Blood, More Tracks to fall in price, but waited too long to pull the trigger on the Paul McCartney 1971-73 mega box and saw it sell out.

Even though I scored relative deals on the two Dylan sets, I’m pretty tired of the “strictly limited” marketing gambit when there’s no real information about just how limited any of these sets really are.

Also, I know this is naïve and idealistic, but Bob Dylan is important enough to the culture (and has been good enough to Columbia/Sony, I’m sure) that the full 6-disc edition of More Blood, More Tracks ought to be in print forever.

I'm eating humble pie on this. I now think it must be "my philosophy" or "my philosopher", and the latter seems a much more unlikely word for Bob to use than the former. When you trace the route of his pen it appears to be the only word that fits the movement.
