That's exactly where my mind was going. Is it inconceivable that there may be a couple of Basement Tapes originals that had a run-through or two? This is my (probably delusional) hope.

I wonder what they will do for the vinyl issue. I was terribly disappointed with how they did MBMT and would be happy to see a 5lp set similar to the 3cd/5lp vol 1-3.

I thought the 2-LP MBMT vinyl set was nearly perfect, but I agree that Travelin' Thru (again, I really, really like that title) will probably call for a 5-LP box, since it covers more ground, and I'd be all in on that.

Okay, now I'm already trying to figure out what the Record Store Day tie-in will be for this release.

Replica of a 10" 45rpm mono Columbia Nashville acetate, featuring "Wanted Man" b/w "Big River" duets by BD & JC?

Similar to this beauty, from the the collection of @Maranatha5585 --

@Harryhew on Twitter shared some tidbits of info:

I can confirm that TRAVELIN' THRU will be a 3-CD set. 50 tracks in total. 2:13:46 in length. Expected release date is November 1, 2019.

    Official announcement is imminent.

I can confirm that "As I Went Out One Morning (Take 1)" will be included on Disc 1 of TRAVELIN' THRU. Track 5 of 15.

Seven JWH takes, Mystery Train, Wanted Man, and a bunch of tracks with Earl Scruggs (Shruggs??). Very cool.

    Thanks a million @LonesomeDayBlues

    EDIT: And "Western Road" ??

Could "Western Road" be that "Goin' to Chicago" tune?

Probably not though... would have been "Midwestern Road" ;)

Could be, but I hope not! Hope it's a previously unknown BD song. I just checked bobdylan.com -- it's not listed there yet as a copyrighted Dylan song, but it might be a little early in the process for that.

Wondering if all those Earl Scruggs tracks were done in 1970; "Nashville Skyline Rag" came out on an LP, and "East Virginia Blues" was in the documentary.

Is anything from the Disc 2 tracks "uncirculated", from a cursory glance?

Perfect, where do I preorder? The Earl Scruggs (not Shruggs) content is especially overdue.

Maybe “Western Road” is an improvised original that grew out of Dylan & The Nashville Cats jamming on (a perhaps half-remembered) “Goin’ To Chicago?” Just spitballin’ here.

According to Bjorner, the album cut of Watchtower is a splice of take 3 and take 5. So is this just the complete take 3 without a splice? Or maybe the numbering on Bjorner doesn't match the take numbers from the official documents? If this isn't an entirely unknown take of Watchtower, it's a missed opportunity, as a supposedly breathtaking early take of the song has been teased in articles & interviews before.

That's the download. The CD is $29.98.

    Amazon has this description:

"The latest chapter in the highly acclaimed Bob Dylan Bootleg Series revisits Dylan's pivotal musical journeys to Nashville, from 1967 to 1969, focusing on previously unavailable recordings made with Johnny Cash and unreleased tracks from the John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline, and Self Portrait sessions. Disc 1 finds Dylan in Columbia's Studio A in Nashville recording alternate versions of compositions written for John Wesley Harding (October 17 and November 6, 1967) and Nashville Skyline (February 13-14, 1969) while introducing a new song "Western Road" (a Nashville Skyline outtake). Discs 2 and 3 are centered around Dylan's collaborations with American music icon Johnny Cash including the much sought-after Columbia Studio A sessions and on-stage performances at the Ryman Auditorium (May 1, 1969) for the recording of the premiere episode of The Johnny Cash Show (originally broadcast on ABC-TV on June 7, 1969). Disc 3 closes with tracks recorded on May 17, 1970 with Grammy Award-winning bluegrass banjo legend Earl Scruggs for the PBS television special, "Earl Scruggs: His Family and Friends" (originally aired January 1971)."
