years ago it was really cool to hear this on my vinyl boot called The Kindest Cut...VD suite is cool as well...it all seemed so special back then.
I listened to the 1986 interview with Bob. I liked his line: "I am nobody's puppet. Nobody pulls my strings." That seems to say it all.
I was looking for Bob's answer when asked about his friends, when he replied something like, "Friends? What is a friend? " or something like that. Does anyone know what interview it is from, or the exact quote? I think it was the 1986 interview, but it might have been the one on that windy day out on a bench.

I was just listening to the "Free bonus disc of rare live tracks" that came with the "1998 Australasian tour commemorative edition" of Time Out Of Mind, it has the best recording of Blind Willie McTell, that I've heard.
Just received Oh Mercy on vinyl.... My my my it is like listening to it for the first time... I love this album.
Yes, I believe that version is a studio outtake from 1983, the version I mentioned is a live recording from August 1997.
OH MERCY!!!!! Been a while since I listened to this; just listened to Ring Them Bells so many times I don't even know how many. I LOVE this album!!!!!!
