I still regret passing on the huge Cutting Edge set and just getting the 6 disc version. This sucker could come shipped on a semi and delivered to my porch on a forklift and I will be preordering.

Must be the Scorcese soundtrack, or the one disc version of the next Bootleg Series--or maybe a one-off. It can't be the "complete" Rolling Thunder Tour. They only put of the 1966 Tour mega box because of the copyright issues for recordings over 50 years old. I'm no math wizard, but 1975 wasn't 50 years ago.

Yeah, but why make money in 6 years when you can make it now?

Especially since no one can say what the market for physical media will look like in 6 years. I *think* there will still be sufficient demand for sets like this at that point, but I wouldn’t bet all the money in my pockets on it.

6 years is a long time from now. 6 years ago, around 25 percent of Dylan's studio albums/main live albums hadn't been remastered. The Bootleg Series was a totally different beast. This ride might go on for a long time, but I think Sony is opportunistic enough to know to cash in while they can.

This is pretty much exactly what I would want. I’d never listen carefully to the complete tour (I love the 66 tour and gladly bought the box, but I can’t really remember show to show distinctions for most tracks). I would also suspect that a large box would be significantly more expensive. <$150 is an easy buy. >$200 would take some serious thinking.
1 full show wouldn’t be enough, but 4-5 shows plus rehearsals is right on. I do hope there is at least one complete show with all the other artists included.

If this indeed is a set that includes a wide range of '75 live recordings and rehearsals, perhaps we should look at it as simply an expanded edition of the Renaldo & Clara promo EP.

Each set should include a sony.com 12-month no interest credit card offer.

Im just the opposite. I find the RTR sets much more inner'esting at this point. Would definitely buy a RTR set.

Is the copyright issue really a thing anymore? Seems like so many big acts have not followed the Dylan camp’s lead and with little consequence. Even the Dylan camp is picking and choosing at this stage (not worrying about JWH, yet mentioning they need to get the Cash sessions out this year)

Just for comparison's sake, let's put up Amazon France's price just out of curiosity. I'd like to see if it starts out the same as Amazon Spain's price.

The JWH outtakes are supposedly not in collector's hands, so as it currently stands and no one could exploit them even though they've fallen into the public domain. The Cash sessions on the other hand are available to collectors and because of that they might be more likely to want to protect them.

A bit shortsighted, insofar as if/when the JWH outtakes do "get out," they'll be unprotected.

Now listing at £194 on Amazon.co.uk and described as a:

“Limited edition box set only 3000 copies”

I don’t think this is only 14 discs.

I definitely want BS 5 on vinyl, so I would go for that. I would prefer though that they issue one complete Dylan show from this set on vinyl, just to get some variation. Montreal Dec 4 perhaps. But we'll see.

So: not a Bootleg Series release; as I expected, a big box akin to the 1966 one. A couple of things: firstly, it's twice the price of the 1966 box and I hope that changes. Secondly, is it conceivable that they're leaving November free for an actual Bootleg Series release as well as this? And then: just imagine if that were to focus on 1976. Hey presto. You'd have the Rolling Thunder years all done and dusted in 2019. Just a thought.

Don’t think we’ll see a Bootleg Series release this year but that’s a bit of educated speculation on my part.

The Amazon.co.uk price is for a Japanese Edition, probably Blu-Spec2, which are generally more expensive. If you whittle this down to a U.K. price...something like £100-£120? You’d still be talking about more than 14 discs by that logic, especially as it’s being vaguely described as something akin to the 1966 set and not a lavish Bootleg Series set with books etc...also being a limited 3000 copy edition.

I'll be disappointed if it's not released on the 5th day of May.

I'm hoping they do at least one or two of the shows on vinyl!
