I've noticed a lot of the pre-release listings on Amazon say "1 disc" when it's obviously a multi-disc box set. I saw it with the recent McCartney sets.

If the Dylan camp would handle this like Pearl Jam has done for years, I know that I'd pick up at least a handful of the shows. I don't think I need everything single show from that period or any period/tour.

Yes. There are board tapes - some from cassette - from *pretty much* everything. Some may be incomplete.
There are fairly comprehensive rehearsal tapes as well. I don’t know if these are part of the proposed set.

It’s more than 1cd as well....

I don’t know but I’d be surprised if this is correct.

Sounds like a Big Money Trouble release to me. Will have to smile sweetly at SWMBO at some point......

I’d think the consideration that this material goes out of EU copyright in 7 years would not be missed.

Exactly. Once released the performances are given a new 70 year lease of copyright life. Getting them all out there a few years earlier than legally required makes little difference and avoids the dilemma now (presumably) facing Bob Inc. regarding the remaining 1969/1970/1971 sessions which were represented on BS10 before the copyright issue raised its handsome head.

We have to go through the usual thing:

    Amazon links disappear.

Someone leaks a poor resolution photo of the artwork.

Someone on Expecting Rain claims to have a tracklist which turns out to be wrong.

ISIS magazine confirms what we already know.

Artwork and tracklist get posted on Amazon.

Bob Dylan.com announce it after everyone knows every detail already.

I don't think I could not buy it, if it includes the Hard rain video ... or perhaps another filmed concert ... If it is just cd's of the concerts, I feel well represented with the previous bootleg release and Hard Rain cd

May release date sounds wrong but I sincerely hope it's correct and that the Autumn is reserved for a long overdue album of new Bob originals. 7 years since Tempest was recorded!

Again...lets wait & see. I don’t have any *recent* information to either confirm or deny this. But 14 discs doesn’t sound right to me.

If your writer friend has the story right, it begs the question which six shows? The five shows for which there are 24 track recordings are the obvious candidates, but are there other shows from the tour that people consider absolute tour highlights?

2 discs of rehearsals sounds very enticing.

The amazon.es item states 14 discs released May 17 and is currently $65 shipped to the US, so I placed an order and will cancel if needed.

I'd be happy with just the multi-track shows, which include what's often cited as the standout show of the entire tour (Dec. 4th in Montreal).

Something about that spanish amazon link is strange to me . It says its 60 euros but according to google that equals 67 dollars but the US amazon says the set is $214 dollars ?

Off the top of my head, there’s more than 2 discs worth of rehearsals available.

With collecting music, there is no "need". You either want something or you have it. Need is irrelevant.
