Perhaps saying the Ionic "Simple Twist Of Fate" has been "released" was a bit misleading. However... The five remaining Ionic acetates were being offered for sale directly to individuals by NeoFidelity for fixed prices, not by public auction, in the last quarter of 2022. I won't disclose the price tag(s) for fear of inducing here a collective uncontrollable soiling of pants and the potential for additional burdens being placed on cardiac arrest clinics across the globe. Private listening sessions were held in London over two days in the last week of October for potential customers who were vetted and selected by NeoFidelity in advance. Other private listening sessions would no doubt have been scheduled for the US also. I do not know whether any of the discs have been sold.
no, it was just to illustrate that there are 'bootleg' copies selling on places like discogs etc. which i find odd the mods rightfully removed it
whats T Bone going to do with the bread? besides collecting it? no movement or update on the whole "we are going to revolutionize" how people listen to music.
Yes, thank you. Exactly. And the undeniable reality that it’s not a live performance doesn’t diminish it in any way. It’s a beautiful piece of work. I’m glad it’s finally being released.
Don't take everything you read on internet sites as gospel. Unless you want to. The comment you quote is taken from Searching For A Gem and was added to the entry for the "Blowin' In The Wind" Ionic Acetate by the site owner off his own bat with no evidence for his stated belief. (There are a number of entries on that otherwise very useful site which suffer from unhelpful speculative statements like this.) He had been informed that NeoFidelity was in the process of offering the acetates for private sale - this being well-known from a lecture made by T Bone Burnett last year. He was also informed that private listening sessions were being scheduled, but the fact is he has no idea whether any of the remaining Ionic acetates have been sold. Nor does he have any idea what the asking price(s) were. Not that "very high" means anything. Mont Blanc is very high to someone who has never seen a mountain; for those of us who have summited Everest it is but a molehill.
We have all heard (back when Shadow Kingdom was streamed) that the instrumental was "Watchtower" Now, we hear that it is "Sierra's Theme" But right here is the legendary watchtower in the Sierra de Guadarrama, built between 800 to 900 AD. This is the origin place of the both songs.
Amazon have the vinyl priced at £21.99! Surely will go up more than that as most other retailers have it priced at about £35
Hopefully the other way round. £36 is a silly price for a 3-sided album with no original songs. £21.99 sounds like the real price.
£22 is rare for a single LP now let alone a double. Sadly the price rises the labels have made of the past couple of years don’t look like ending any time soon
Sorry if this has been covered, but the video is now available to preorder as a download through the iTunes store for £8.99 (it was up yesterday, briefly, for £7.99... but I missed it). At the moment, there is no option to rent. But I'd expect that option to be added when it goes live on the 06 June.
Ah, seem that it's not available on the Japanese iTunes store, where searching for Shadow Kingdom only shows the album.
Rough and Rowdy Ways is £25 on the uk Bob Dylan website and that has four sides. If they do try to sell Shadow Kingdom at £36 I expect it will be dead stock at record fairs before the year’s out.
I really loved this release when I streamed it a couple summers ago. I may splurge on the Japan cd version as well as the US vinyl releases.
If they've any sense then they will release the vinyl as a limited RSD edition. I don't see them doing that though.
Given Bob has sold the publishing of his past catalogue is including a “new” song a way to collect some publishing royalties for the Shadow Kingdom album and video sales.
Yes, likely a slightly larger jewel case made to hold a larger booklet. Small differences of course but overall make the package more "deluxe" than than a regular cardboard or jewel case version. The actual CD might be a blu-spec or shm too. Jury is still out on sound quality differences...
