Looks right! Disc 32 and 33 have To Ramona, which look like they're from Westchester and Syria Mosque. Disc 1 and 2 fit with the Sydney show...
I absolutely love the "Royal Albert Hall" show, and I will surely but the real Royal Albert Hall one, but I'm not interested in this set. It's almost the same setlist every night. I'm not criticizing Bob, it's just a description, he never thought or releasing all these shows back then (maybe he thinks it's a crazy idea doing it now, in fact). A, let's say, 4 cd-set of the best performances of the tour would be really nice, though.
Discs 17 & 18 are probably Sheffield, with Manchester on 19 & 20, and the Manchester soundcheck fragment of "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues" tacked on after the end of the Manchester show. Probably.
This is great news. Everything we could have hoped for, at a very reasonable price - who'd have thought this would happen, compared to this time last year? And now all the (enjoyable) speculation is over, I can sit back and wait till November, and get back to normality.
OH YEAH. Still would like to have the '65 concerts (I didn't buy the 18 cd set and get the downloads) but this affordable release I will buy, and soon.
Are you sure they aren't included? What I get from the amazon blurb is that those (and the Manchester show) songs are exceptions, in that they were released before, not exceptions in the sense that they are not included.
"Liner notes have been provided by Clinton Heylin. Each individual CD is housed in a custom sleeve featuring stills from colour film shot by D.A. Pennebaker, who’s footage from Dylan’s 1965 and 1966 tours became the cinema verite classics Don’t Look Back and Eat The Document" The 1966 Live Recordings (36 CD Box Set) »
Yes the vinyl is on Amazon now as well. I thought it would be an RSD exclusive and therefore not available for pre-order? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Real-Royal-Albert-Concert-VINYL/dp/B01M0LCCU7/

Question is -what do we need this for. No doubt it s one of the greatest tours ever but 36 cd s with almost the same setlists. Don t really know about this one
Those of you who have heard all/most of this stuff, do you think that the RAH show was the best of the tour? Or would you have chosen a different show to release as a 2CD set?
For that price? Of course I'm buying. I bought the 65 box for 5X that much. But the shows probably sound exactly the same as the bootlegs. It'll be like the 65 mp3s with a cover.
Considering that the 6 cd BS sets have been selling for about $100, I don't see why they would bother.
Think I paid about the same amount a few years back for the 3CD Tell Tale signs. To have all of this tour for the around the same price is just amazing. And what do you need it for? Well, if you're familiar with the existing bootlegs from this tour you'll know that each concert and performance is sublimely unique. There's no need to worry about same setlists here.
In my opinion, each performance may as well be different songs. The Manchester LARS is certainly a different song than the RAH LARS (as much as Dylan's Corrina Corrine is different than Big Joe Turner's). If there's such a difference in those, which arguably may end up being the two most memorable performances of 66 and maybe his career, then there are probably countless other jewels. Like the (haven't counted them yet) 17 or so Tell Me Mama that we're about to suddenly have. 17 or so performances of a song that was never put down in the studio -- we may have never heard the definitive version in the 4 or 5 that we have. I'm personally thrilled. I'm also envious that there are people that don't have this mental deficiency of the need to collect to which I've fallen prey
Edinburgh or Newcastle are sometimes considered the best (from what's been out there before) performance-wise. But the RAH shows and Sheffield are the best, sound-wise. Probably. There's a lot of unheard stuff here. Edit: Sheffield 5/16 is probably the best currently known acoustic set, partially on the basis of the incandescent "Mr. Tambourine Man" from that night. Too many good options to choose from!
