Fingers crossed for a nice vinyl comp of the whole year separate from the RAH Record Store Day exclusive we already know we're getting

Just a guess based on the track listing, but it looks like the fragmentary audience stuff is tagged on at the end, in which case Paris is disc 26 & 27, with the two RAH shows being 28 & 29 and 30 & 31?

With the exception of the Manchester concert (May 17, 1966) released as Bob Dylan Live 1966 The Bootleg Series Vol. 4 in 1998, a pair of songs appearing on the 1985 Biograph compilation and a smattering of others, the overwhelming majority of tracks and performances on Bob Dylan: The 1966 Live Recordings are previously unreleased in any format--official or bootlegged--and are being made available now for the very first time.
All the songs on The 1966 Live Recordings were written by Bob Dylan (vocal, guitar, piano, harmonica) with the sole exception of "Baby, Let Me Follow You Down," a traditional song arranged by Bob Dylan for concert performance. Dylan is accompanied on these recordings by Robbie Robertson (guitar), Rick Danko (bass, backing vocals), Richard Manuel (piano), Garth Hudson (organ) and Mickey Jones (drums). Yeah but when is the vinyl box set out?

 

No word yet on a "middle sized" 6CD version. It seems it's 36 or the 2 CD RAH. But we shall see.

 

The Real Royal Albert Hall Concert 1966, included in the box-set, gets a separate CD release in the U.K. November 11 and in the U.S. December 2:

That massive track listing is not very useful. Not sure anyone in the world will listen to this all the way through more than once.

 

So where there is a Nagra and a 3-track recording for one show, do they go with the 3-track? The more complete or 'better' recording? Or mix and match?

Wonders why they aren't including 'a pair of songs appearing on the 1985 Biograph compilation'. There are three '66 tour songs on Biograph.

Why ditch the Bootleg Series banner for this release?

I like that they are including incomplete songs.

No mention of a deluxe book. Yet.

 

One sixth of the cost of The Cutting Edge in the UK. How good is that?

 

Second non-buy in a row for me. I can only hear these songs so many times before permanent fatigue sets in. More outtakes please! Different era too!
