I purchased the 2LP vinyl first. It’s a small percentage of material.
    I wanted more.
I noticed not all the songs were available on Tidal streaming that are offered on the CD set.
I picked up the CD set and love it.
I’m guessing the LP’s are digital sourced, but Yes - the vinyl playback has a more “vinyl” sound quality to it
I still prefer the CD set. More tunes. Less up and down flipping.

Seriously, do it. You won't regret it (or you might, actually, because you'll never want to listen to the original released sequences ever again, lmao :p )

If it's not too much trouble, do you have a playlist I can work off of?

Just sent him the pm. I'll send it to you too. :)

Really friggin' annoying - lost ALL of my Dylan a few months back in a drive crash before I had backed it up (so stupid of me....) and lost that. Lost all my notes and everything from when I assembled this. All I had to go off of was the tracklist still sitting in Foobar. In other words, it's messy, but assemble-able. You'll see.....

Ok guys I found an "assembled" copy of it all, track info and all. Major, MAJOR credit goes out to @hodgo

I forgot he basically assembled most of this, I just filled in some gaps (for instance, I added "Magic" to one disc, etc) and made some art.

Here is the tracklist from the text file:

All credit to @hodgo for original assembly. I later on added in 9 or 10 tracks from bootleg sources in addition to what he lists.

FROM Wikipedia: Empire Burlesque - Wikipedia

One of the most famous outtakes from the EB sessions is "New Danville Girl".
A satirical epic co-written with playwright Sam Shepard, it was originally an attempt at answering Lou Reed's song "Doin' the Things That We Want To" from his 1984 album New Sensations.
(Reed was inspired to write "Doin' the Things That We Want To" after seeing one of Shepard's plays.)

I met Shepard and asked about his involvement in that song. He said it was little more than the title change, and it was all Bob's song actually.

  17. I have listened a lot to this set, but I’ve never owned it. Until today, when I received a Deluxe CD set, bought at a big discount. It’s great, I don’t know what people are complaining about.

With Dylan, most complaints are that he (or his team) did not do exactly as the complainer had wished.

I think people were complaining about all the filler, the swathes of wasted space on the five discs, the often sterile mixing, the omission of known, quality material, the pricing...

  20. No real issues with this particular set for me. But I don't have much confidence in Dylan's team...I wish that Dylan's team would take the same approach that McCartney did with the Beatles box sets from ten years ago.

  21. Disc 1 is a waste of space that could have been used for more Infidels session material for a start.Nearly all of the cover versions are near embarrassing both in concept and execution.
Besides that there was a lot of empty space on the discs they could have filled with great stuff if they weren’t being so subservient to the intrinsic limitations of vinyl.Thankfully they rectified this with Fragments.

That wasn't the case with BS 16 Alan, which at 50 minutes and over a disc, all but one of the CD's is too long to comfortably fit on a single LP, disc two being the exception at 44 minutes.

I'm sorry for missing this originally but I've only just seen your kind shoutout, I think it's because I spent four months of this year with Pneumonia & Covid so you posted at a time when my health still wasn't great.

Back to your take I like the addition of the bootleg sources, this was something I contemplated myself but I opted in favour of keeping it official so that everyone could have a go at assembling something similar. I also created an additional three disc mop up set for myself utilising various bootleg sources.
