are you getting that 'previously released' thing from the photo- and would that be the vinyl, so that maybe thats only half of a cd (ten vinyl records or five cds, right?)

edit- looking at the photo, that 'previously released' thing might be two records (ie, the equivalent of one cd)... so maybe yeah, its only two cds worth of outtakes, and one live cd? still, of course, there could be many great things on there... and interesting that there will be a remix of the album. other then the street legal remix, has he ever reissued an album in a remix version?

Probably the material from Tell Tale Signs. I actually would welcome that material on this set. I know its duplication, but I'd prefer everything on the one place

So let me understand this, anyone with a different opinion to yours is there to be mocked or ridiculed?

If you do that to anyone else in this or any other thread you will be removed from that particular thread and quite possibly warned. Disagreeing with the opinions of others is fine, mocking or riduculing them just for having an opinion that doesn't align with yours is not!

Agreed. Springtime in New York would’ve felt like a far more definitive overview of the Infidels sessions if it had been supplemented with the BS1-3 tracks (& the Blind Willie McTell b-side).

The fact that the vinyl edition is 10LPs suggests the CDs won’t share the brief running times of BS15 & BS16, which can only help too.

I have often thought that BS volumes 1-10 are almost part of a different series to volume 11 onwards, largely because the deluxe sets really took of on vol. 11. The repetition of tracks almost reinforces the difference.

I'd love to own this new set on vinyl, unfortunately it will more than likely be out of my price range.

If it turns out this will only be 2 discs of unreleased material, there will be way more to critique than the cover photo, but what an odd choice to use something from '91.

    Sorry, couldn't resist it. LOL.

But if you have a track list that would be handy.

My impression is that he started stockpiling songs for TOOM from the beginning of the 90's. Certainly Make You Feel My Love was from the early 90's based on the Billy Joel version so maybe the picture represents the beginning of the writing of those songs.

I usually wait for the official announcement (or sometimes a few days later to include quotes from the inevitable Rolling Stone article with hints about the next installment).

I assume that the prev released disk is stuff from tell tale signs, but is there even enough stuff from purely TOOM on TTS to fill a disk without loads of unused space (haven't listened to TTS in a while) if not what else could be on that disk?

A stretch but okay I can buy it. Still though the set is explicitly from 96-97

“The song ‘Dirt Road Blues’ was created from a cassette tape Dylan had from a sound check. He asked me if we could use it, and so I made a loop of the best eight bars and the band played on top of it. Because it was a soundcheck recording, Daniel didn’t like it — he said the steel part sounded like the Bugs Bunny / Road Runner Hour. That’s why Winston Watson played drums on the album.”

Probably as soon as vol.17 is out. I’m hoping for a ”mid 70’s” or a ”Supper Club/Good as I been/WGW” release.
