Bond goes to watch a Manchester United game at a pub and gets in a bar brawl with this guy and then that's the movie.
And they both striptease (to make money) while Tom Jones' rendition of "You can leave your hat on" plays in the background.
I wouldn't mind a Thunderball remake. It's a good story, and I'll bet a lot of the newer audience for JB haven't seen the early ones in the series. I mean better Thunderball than some hodge-podge.
Argh!!!! Just when I was getting comfortable with the idea of Danny Boyle directing B O N D 25, the old creative differences arises. Craig doesn't die as Bond in his last spy romp it seems if DB script suggested. Aside.. Mel Gibson would direct but his concept was take it back to the sixties gadgets scantily clad ladies and bit of macho strut kiss kiss bang bang. Don't know if the world wants a retro bond, but I'd bring along the .
In my view, there are a number of Fleming novels that could be revisited and modernized, Thunderball certainly being one of them. The original was substandard, and the remake, Never Say Never Again, was a truly sad piece off work. Casino Royale is a great example of what can be done with an original Fleming story. Ultimately, I would prefer to see a smart, intriguing espionage film than a strained attempt at a blockbuster.
Boyle's departure. Sure enough it was down to casting a Russian spy /villain ...seems Craig makes all the creative choices picks the women ie Eva Green etc other decisions. Guess DB had someone else in mind.
How do you know this? Everyone involved has been keeping schtum about the split since it happened two days ago... I did find it rather telling though that Craig's name was included in the Twitter announcement alongside Broccoli's and Wilson's. Just FYI: It was director Martin Campbell who chose Eva Green for Casino Royale - he approached her for the role several times before she agreed - whilst Craig only became an associate producer on Spectre; besides, the very worst idea on both that film and entire franchise to date (namely, Bond's and Blofeld's familial history) was Sam Mendes' idea - he admitted it himself - not Craig's. From what I'm hearing, it sounds like they're going to stick with the John Hodge script (prep began on it around late May/early June), but bring in a new writer(s) - Purvis/Wade perhaps? - to knock it into shape before filming commences in about four months or so... which is still a crazy short prep time for any new director working on a massive movie like a Bond movie. Whoever gets the directing gig, they're going to be working their ass off for the next 14 months like they've never done before... I don't envy them... the pressure and the schedule will be just utterly insane and absolutely relentless!!!
Okay, after some further research, you appear to be right (if those reported accounts are correct)... and all I can say is... FECK!!! This is why we can't have nice things.
So let me get this straight; EON and/or Craig loved Boyle and Hodges' idea, they all agreed on an updated 'Cold War' setting... but they effectively pushed a fresh new creative voice in the franchise - right when it so very desperately needs it the most! - out the door on account of it being too relevant to today's current real-life issues, and also casting of the main villain? If that's even remotely accurate, then this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the Bond franchise is creatively doomed (if not already there) and why Craig's upcoming last 007 film will also be mine in all likelihood...
Now looks like the producers /Craig just want a yesman director at this stage. The franchise is set to make big bucks stick to the formula and it will do well at the box office. Would it have did better with Boyle at the helm I would think so but the producers/Craig thought otherwise. No no 7.
They've apparently wanted Boyle to potentially helm a Bond movie for quite a while... and now they got him, with a story idea they all really liked, they push him out the door for what appears to be ostensibly silly reasons. Whatever... hooray for Hollywood .
Boyle, Maybe he wanted more money/points.Or ..Something recently that Craig didn't like about, a personal thing.. all hypothetical on my part. No doubt we'll get the real nitty gritty soonish.
Well then Boyle's departure provides an opportunity to write a more appealing script. A brand new Gallup poll shows that by a healthy margin Americans would rather pursue friendlier relations with Russia than implement additional provocations. The clamoring for a new Cold War appears to thankfully be isolated to the media and the obsolete neoconservative wing of DC influencers.
A nerve agent was released poisoning 2 people( ex Russian spy )in a shopping center in England, May 2018. Think Boyle was trying to keep it current regarding Bond script wise.
The franchise is big enough to survive this....but I doubt this all is going to result in a great (or even good) movie.....
Looks like it's going to be BOND 25 - 2020 James Bond 25 to Miss November 2019 Release Date Director Danny Boyle abruptly exited the project earlier this week just three months before it was set to start shooting. Wonder Woman may have just gotten some breathing room. With the abrupt exit of director Danny Boyle, the next installment in the James Bond film franchise — the untitled Bond 25 — will miss its Nov. 8, 2019 release date in North American theaters, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. (Wonder Woman 1984 debuts on Nov. 1.) It's possible Bond 25 may not hit theaters until late 2020, according to sources. No recent Bond film has ever opened in summer. Even before Boyle departed, there was talk of pushing the movie's release to early 2020. Boyle's exit over creative differences was revealed in a tweet earlier this week by Bond producers Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson and 007 actor Daniel Craig. Boyle was set to start shooting in early December. MGM is handling domestic distribution duties, while Universal will release Bond 25 overseas, which has a U.K. release date of Oct. 25, 2019.
