Thought Cranston stated something in one of the news stories about this, that he hadn’t read the script and couldn’t verify if he was in it, but that Gilligan is a “genius” and he’d love to come back if possible.

If it’s just a few months shooting for a movie, I could see him coming back. Less commitment than shooting a season of a show.

Kurt Sutter is recycling SOA and now Vince is returning to BB? Maybe if they worked together they could come up with something original.

Lemmy them out here; how about a team of corrupt cops chase a mysterious drug kingpin?

I never cared for Jessie's character, finding him more annoying than anything. I'd like to see the sequel revolve around Jr and open with Jr visiting his dad's grave. After wanting to find the real answers about what happened to WW, Jr would break-bad himself. He would go into the meth business as a means of finding those who involved his father, then he would get caught up in the lure of profits, all while working at his mom's carwash and attempting to keep his new-found trade a secret from her (re-living WW's sins).

Haven't Gilligan and his team built up enough equity with viewers to at least afford him the benefit of the doubt? We are so dang skeptical these days. I think it is rooted in our ever growing narcissism. We seem to think we are too cool to be entertained.

They should do a series on mike during his Philly cop days, with fresh actors of course.

I don't think the movie really exists beyond being developed, but IMDB labels it as "in production," and yet there's no studio, no locations, no tech credits, and no release date:

Untitled Breaking Bad Movie - IMDb

The log line is: "Following the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom."

No cast is listed. I think they're still months away from shooting, but that's me.

    Oh God yes:

Bryan Cranston cast in Breaking Bad movie: Report

A rumored cast list suggests a handful of familiar faces returning to the fold

Bryan Cranston cast in Breaking Bad movie: Report

Now, according to a report from Revenge of the Fans, there are a heap of familiar faces joining Paul, and most of them should leave fans scratching their heads. At the top of the list is Bryan Cranston, who heads a cast list that includes Krysten Ritter (Jane), Jonathan Banks (Mike), Jesse Plemons (Todd), Charles Baker (Skinny Pete), Matt Jones (Badger), Robert Forster (Ed), Tess Harper (Mrs. Pinkman), and Kevin Rankin (Kenny).

I would wager these will flashback cameos, if not a very traumatized Jesse being outright haunted by the specter of some of these dead characters mentally, as like the lead character in An American Werewolf in London. Either way, count me in. Hoping that Gilligan will direct as well.

How are they ( assuming ) going to capture the essence of Breaking Bad in a two hour movie ?

It will be one like one long 2 hour episode, one would think, with a bigger budget.
