Brilliant albums with horrible album covers

No one's going to mention Goats Head Soup?

 

I have mixed feelings about Presence and don't feel it's their best, so not brilliant. But I can understand why others do.

 

My post was not really intended seriously. I was just making the point that he was not very good at marketing his own releases.

And as you can see from Mirror Image's post, opinions differ, so I'll say it again: make up your own mind.

 

thanks for posting that. I wasn’t familiar with that painting and now that you’ve shown me I’d like to think it did inspire the album cover on some level

 

I was in Avignon last year, and I did not see any demoiselles that looked anything like that!

A man’s bare ass on a cover looking at some kind of futuristic architecture --- it’s just awful. The music on this album, however, is fantastic.

 

Carly Simon has always had horrible album covers!

I don't mind this one at all. The cover of the next album is much worse, but then the music as well...

 

I detract my statement. I'm a Carly fan but she MOSTLY had bad album covers like the 2nd one of her trying to be sexy. The first one is ok

I guess you wouldn't like the Hemispheres' cover from Rush.

Another absolutely horrible cover, take a live photo (of the singer only to boot) and slap it on:

That's why I got the alternative cover when I bought the 2020 remix 2-LP edition, you know, the one with a goat's head on it, in soup.

 

What? He paid $70,000 for that hair style. Or was that someone else?
