Prodigal Son is good, but in no way, shape or form is it 'official release' quality. You may prefer the ambience of this recording over the Nugs release, but the Nugs release is superior in sound quality in my opinion.
Don't really understand the dislike for Tenth here; unlike say the long versions of Mary's Place, Working on A Dream, and the abomination which is Sunny Day. which are basically twenty minutes of Bruce rapping over the same riff, Tenth is broken up into lots of different musical interludes; the riff, then the first verses of the song into It's Alright, into Take Me To The River, then the band intros, into Rumble Doll, into the songs conclusion, so the twenty minutes fly by for me. Also Tenth.. is a classic song in ways that Mary's Place , Working on a Dream and Sunny Day most definitely are not.
I felt the audience singalong from the the Barcelona DVD was appropriate, as the first time the song was taken on the road. Since then, though, it’s become like a bad SNL skit.
I really like the Barcelona version too. I like the gentle intro with just Stevie and Bruce playing acoustic - I think in later tours the arrangement has become a bit more busy and begins with the full band.

I'm not particularly clamouring for another Joad show either but on the other hand, you could apply "Do we really need another ____ show" for most tours post '88.
