Oh that was the PBS Special Edition CD. Bruce Springsteen With The Sessions Band - PBS Exclusive I liked that much more than the regular album release.
With the talk about the extended release of Live in Dublin reading minds here makes me think the most wanted archive for Friday is something from 2006.
Where is a list of all of the official archive releases from Bruce? I went to the official site and only see a few of them there, and not all.
I've got a backlog of Archive shows in the car and this week finally got around to the 9/30/99 Chicago Reunion Tour show. I'm about halfway through the show and am curious if there was a lot of editing out of "between songs" Bruce banter. I saw a number of shows from this tour and downloaded a lot of shows from this tour way back in the day (as I mentioned in another post last week, my Bruce "fandom" was rekindled by Tracks and I also discovered the online joys of the old Stone Pony London). I can't remember any of the shows I went to or heard being this devoid of "talk." I am on disc two and I don't think there's been any type of acknowledgement from Bruce that he is even in Chicago to this point.
I have seen 13 ESB shows since 1999 and don't remember a lot of talking between songs except when he would talk about the Second Harvest Food Bank. The other "banter" was during 10th Avenue and Light of Day.
Don’t get me wrong I love TOL not sure if it’s my favorite Bruce release but it’s in my top three or four. That said the archive series has been a little TOL heavy. I’d like something else please.
The live version of "Be True" from the Chimes of Freedom EP came from this concert. I was at the next night (my first Bruce show) and it was an excellent show. A definite buy for me.
