Both he and Brad Pitt were remarkable in 12 Monkeys. Probably the best performances
    they both ever did.
And don't forget Bruce's appearances on several episodes of "Friends". Out of character
for him, but he was hilarious, especially when he started crying to Rachel about his childhood.

Agreed. I love that performance. It's a shame the film and performance got overlooked when it came out in 1989. Born on the 4th of July also came out that year, but I much prefer In Country. Bruce Willis and Emily Lloyd were great, fine direction by Norman Jewison and the last sequence was really moving.

Such a limited range, but probably works best in Die Hard.

So many great films, similar problem when visiting an ice cream shop. Cast my vote for "12 Monkeys," the "Red" films and "GI Joe: Retaliation." Hopefully he'll be in the next Joe film.

There was a movie where he played a mostly silent diva movie star that everyone else on the set had to fret and agonize over. A point of contention was whether he'd deign to shave off his beard or not.

I wondered if that was self-parody, or his impression of other high-profile actors. Or merely what was on the paper in front of him.

In Unbreakable he acts confused, proud, depressed, heroic, flirtatious and coy, all just with subtle changes of expression. My favourite performance of his.

My wife and I have spent about a week watching the first three seasons of Moonlighting on DVD sets, and have been enjoying the heck out of them. Willis rocks, and Shepherd glows! (Miss DiPesto is also a winner, and Orson Welles' last performance was a winner!)

  22. It's a truly underrated performance in his career. If the movie disappointed, it wasn't because of Bruce Willis.

I forgot about Red and Red 2! He (and the entire cast) are sensational in both, and his cute
puppy dog love for Mary-Louise Parker (Sarah) and their relationship in the film is another
one of my favorite Willis performances.
