Sure if they can last another 25+ years, hoping to be around at least that long.

Yes, because they have the right look for the room. And it is more important for a stereo system to look good than to sound good.

    You have a relevant point.

I am satisfied by not just Lansche speakers but also my listening space.

    Yes.

But, they fell into my lap. The restoration of them was a much more deliberate effort. If another great speaker set fell into my lap, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't try them out. Knowing myself the way I do, the likelihood of me returning to a "traditional 3-way box", would nonetheless be inevitable. I say that now, though...

    You have a good point.

My speakers looks good in my living space.

Recently, Tekton Design speakers got popular but they will look not so good in my house.

Yes. Revel Performa M22s are good enough for me. As my older ears get worse, I will not be able to hear better anyways.

You're right, but it has to be at least that big, with a high ceiling and maybe done in all nice woods.

I am lucky because my current room is not square or rectangular, which is just enough that I don't have issues with standing waves.

But, if I do have a really large room, than I also have room to do all sorts of creative things in it sound wise, so it's all good!

True, but a little bit of both never hurts!

I'm in a 11 x 17 room now. I have given thought to swapping rooms. HT from living room to my current 2-channel listening room. Then put the 2-channel system in the 14' x 22' living room.

But I'll likely need to step up to the next bigger amp and that won't be cheap.

If my Klipsch Heresys keep playing, I will keep them. It's the "house sound"... :edthumbs:

Step up to bigger speakers and keep your amp! The amp in the photo on the previous page is 22-Watts.

Yes. I always thought if I moved to a much larger room I might have to switch them out but that may not be the case. Though they would need a more powerful amp and solid walls are generally a must to get everything out of them.

Yes. Although I may find myself lusting after a higher version in a few years. Does that still count?

I don't know about the depth, but, width wise, that looks like quite a large room.

That is the furthest apart I have even seen a stereo pair of speakers in a home. Usually you don't see speakers placed further apart than inside of the bottom of your amp table, which itself is longer than any amp stand that I have seen before.

Yes, I feel as if I can live with them the rest of my life. Whether that happens depends on a few factors. . . how long I live, how rich or poor I become.

    I love them: Decware HR-1.

Given my current finances, I don't know if I'll have much choice.

The goal is to end up with big enough floor standers that you can be buried in them surely? :)

Great question! I've been thinking about that, and believe I would be very happy with my Klipsch Cornwalls (upstairs system) and Klipsch La Scala's (downstairs). I upgraded the posts and interior wiring with Jena Labs wires, made a HUGE difference.

Sure. My “new” speakers are only a year old but the drivers are 40-50 years old.

The speakers are a Jensen 15” woofer in a large open baffle, Yoshimura Labs horn and compression driver, and Electro Voice T350 horn tweeter. Easily the most realistic sounding speaker I have owned.

I bought my first speaker (a single AR 2ax) in 1968, 50 years ago. I fully expect the YL/Jensens to be with me for the next 50 years.
