I have a French Horn that I purchased about 25 years ago. The music store dude told me that it was a Hess, was manufactured in Germany, was well used, and was made c. 1930s.

So I now realize that I can't post a picture until I have 3(?) posts. AND...I don't know how to delete this...

    Gah!

Well, you have two already. All I know about French horns is you blow in one end and the music goes round and round and comes out the other. And that they are supposed to be very hard to play. Are you trying to sell it?

I'm not sure... I have a student who is borrowing it right now. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth anything before I offer to sell it to her.

New modern ones that need no repair often sell for $350 or less on eBay. I would think half that if it's "well used". I don't see any Hess ones, but didn't look very hard. What have you found?
