Is anyone here besides me a fan of the show? My dad and I like the original show with Alan Funt and Bess Myerson, but don’t like the ones with Peter Funt.

 

first watched this show with my parents when I was a youngster! never missed an episode for all the years it was on the tube!

Unfortunately they haven't been putting up many of the older CC stuff lately.

 

They've been putting up a lot of CC stuff from the Suzanne/Dina era.

 

Paired up with What's My Line? on CBS all through the 1960's.

We used to watch this show when we were knee high to a grasshopper.

Allen Funt also produced something called "Candid Candid Camera" which aired on HBO in the late 70s. Featuring nude women. I liked that when I was 13 but if I watched it now it probably wouldn't seem as charming.

 

While watching some Candid Camera YT postings, I came across this classic I had never seen before -- the radio that talks back. The woman's reaction at 1:35 is priceless:

 

Loved it as a kid--the CBS/PAX years. Haven't watched it since. Always meant to buy the big DVD box set, but it was pretty expensive, from what I remember.

 

So according to my TV guide, JLTV is supposedly airing the Suzanne Somers/Peter Funt era of the show.



Don’t get your hopes up though, because this could very well be just a mistake.

 

I really like the intro music at the beginning.

 

So I got a response back from JLTV about them airing the Peter/Suzanne era, and it's not true. It's going to be the Alan Funt/Bess Myerson era.

 

Funny, I don't recall any episodes with Bess Myerson at all. I only remember Durward Kirby and later on, Jo Ann Pflug.

 

Suzanne Somers, Dina Eastwood, and Dom Deluise did it as well.

 

Watched it as a kid. I loved the episode with Muhammad Ali.

 

Actually, in 1970 Funt released his "What Do You Say To A Naked Lady?" theatrical film. It was, originally, an "X"
rated Candid Camera film, with full male and female front and back nudity. It was controversial at the time, and later
reissued as an "R" rated film. I saw it in the theater back then, and I couldn't believe it was that raw.
