Manolito ( the boy speaking ) hates the Beatles and is very materialistic: " If you think that I´m going to like the Beatles because they´re millionaires you´re wrong !/ Wall street ! those are millionaires ! those I admire! /Cause only the young ones dance to The Beatles.... but Wall Street got everybody dancing( to their tune ) / ...And without guitars !"
I don't see how people who do comic strips think making a reference to something is worthy of their craft. It's lazy to me.
I posted the comic on several Monkees Facebook groups, including Peter Tork's official Facebook page, and they all enjoyed the reference.
My opinion is more about the writer rather than the audience. I can understand people enjoying it also. I've seen a number of comics posted here that don't go anywhere when it's all about a reference is what I was getting at.
