I’m intrigued. I loved the show but never saw the final season or two.

 

Yeah, I didn’t either. The last few seasons I was a high school sophomore and junior, respectively. Between homework, acting and a social life I wasn’t watching much TV then. I pretty much left Murphy when Grant Shaud did, though I came back for the finale.

 

Horrified to see Tyne Daly replacing Phil. I'm also assuming that the fat cameraman who was in love with Murphy has passed on.

 

Yes, he passed away some years ago.

Any reason given as to why Jim Dial isn't back? Although I guess he must be long retired at this point. Its a shame Garry Marshall passed away. He was hysterical on the show.

 

I read that Charles Kimbrough is appearing in a 3 episode story arc as Jim Dial. He's semiretired and living in Southern California, so returning to the series full-time was a nonstarter for him...

 

Yeah, how dare they refuse to cast any of the dead actors anymore - what is this, ageism?!

 

I notice that trailer stays focused on Candace Bergen of 25 years ago and shows about five seconds of what she currently looks like. She was so pretty,,,

 

I'd like to see Kramer get a steady role as Murphy's secretary

 

I was thinking “Mary Tyler Moore” myself.

Aside from some voice-over work he has been away from acting for 15 years now. I also never realized he was married to Beth Howland (Vera from Alice) for years until she passed away.

 

Just watched one of the videos and Candace is sounding old...
