On these 2 charts, the Petra songs are all classics. The #1 Christian CHR song on the Dec. 15, 1986 is one of D&K's best songs.

Love Can Do by Amy Grant from The Collection is a great song, but not quite the classic that Stay For Awhile is. The Chris Eaton song is great and the Vision album is a true classic album in CCM.

Hi, thanks so much for this post. I have been looking for old CCM rock charts online for ages but these one you posted are the only ones I have ever found. Do you have any others from the golden era of Christian Rock 1985-1995?

Just stumbling across this thread now. I know it's pretty late, but I thought I should let you know that I have access to the CCM charts from 1978 to 2002. If this is something you (or anyone else in the forum) is interested in, send me a private message, and I can email you a Microsoft Access file that includes peak positions, chart runs, etc. for the various formats (CHR, AC, Inspo, Rock, etc.).

I am so interested in this. I have been looking for something like this, off and on, for several years.

I will send you a private message with my email address as soon as I'm allowed to send private messages. I guess I'm a lurker. I've been registered here for ten years and I've never posted. :0

I am interested in this as well. I am doing research to improve Wikipedia pages and this would be a godsend.

If you have a microsoft access file I'd really love to get a look at it. I've been doing some significant research on the 1970's and 1980's in CCM, but its impossible to get the week by week charts. Jeffrey Brothers book is good, and so is Powell's book, but I'd really rather look at the charts myself. Please let me know.

I wish Steve Taylor released music on a regular basis.

Good evening, I would like to follow up on this most generous offer. I registered and created an account in order to reply, and then I followed the instructions to private message, but that option was not available. My first attempt to reply here disappeared, so I'm trying again to see if it goes through this time. Hoping to have better luck this time and am hoping the ability to private message comes along with the ability to post a reply. Thank you very much.

Hi dbone828! I’m interested in this Microsoft Access file, mainly because of the Rock chart. I have hard copies of the ChristianRock.Net weekly charts dating from 1998-2008, I think. I’ll have to dig them out of the closet tomorrow to see when I stopped printing them out. Could you please email a copy of the Access file to me at metronomemusicbox at gmail? I can scan in and email the CR.net charts if anyone wants.

Also thanks to BradOlson for starting these rad threads! I didn’t start listening to Christian Rock until 2001 so it’s awesome to see what was popular any given week back before then! I’m soooo curious about the ‘90s, especially during Tooth & Nail Records’s first years.

For me, the golden age of CCM music and when sales were at its peak. Unfortunately secular labels would soon start acquiring some of those labels, plus the better artists would dip their toe doing secular music (with not a lot of success, especially long term), and then the industry would kinda go back into the background. But it sure was fun for a while and this was a great time imo.

Our pal Amy must have been between albums as she’s noticeably missing.
