Was released with no involvement from the band - art design by Yukio Mia
Well it’s only money and that set list is killer. Just ordered it from Amazon Japan. Thanks @Jimmy Agates
A bit of an asterisk on this one as it’s available as part of the last disc of the Mercury Years box set that came out recently. On its own though it’s Japan only.
Guns N' Roses – EP
(aka Live From The Jungle)
Mötley Crüe – Raw Tracks
Mötley Crüe – Raw Tracks II
There was also a Japan-only compilation simply titled The Best of Enya.
Enya - The Best Of Enya
Just Ordered that Cheap Trick "Out To Get You" from CD Japan
Even though it came to just under forty quid, I'm quite pleased as it has bonus tracks that were not on the Record Store LP, plus I don't have a turntable
So a big thanks to @Jimmy Agates for making me aware this even existed
There are Pablo Cruise albums that have been released on CD only in Japan.
While this is a cool collectors item, those that might just be interested in the music would be better served by the easily available DVD that appears to have the same audio (in higher resolution) and of course video to go with it along with bonus material all for much less than you can probably find this rare Japan only CD version. I just picked up the DVD off Amazon new for $9.99 USD.
By the way great thread idea @Jimmy Agates
Bon Jovi – Borderline (EP)
(Includes the song Borderline that still has never been officially released on CD outside of Japan)
Dave, think that's just a promo of the Paint The Sky With Stars comp
The track listing's a little different (no "Paint The Sky With Stars"), so I thought it could count. Maybe I'm bending the OP's guidelines a little.
I forgot about 6 Tracks, and I have it!
There were at least 5 Kylie Minogue compilations that originated in Japan but Australia ended up releasing the lot.
Stevie Nicks - A Hard Game to Play
Japan only mini-album release. 18-page booklet with liner notes in Japanese and lyrics printed in English and Japanese.
MFD. BY TOSHIBA-EMI LTD. IN JAPAN.
TRK 1 ℗ 1991, TRKS 2 & 6 ℗ 1985, TRKS 3 & 5 ℗ 1982, TRK 4 ℗ 1986 Modern Records Inc.
Under exclusive license to EMI Record Ltd.
Thanks. Just hoping it can stay on track as I really don't want it cluttered up with singles and albums with bonus discs. I've seen so many threads get derailed by posters who don't bother to read the original post or just get over enthusiastic. So far so good.
I'm not sure if there's a thread dedicated to Japan bonus discs or bonus DVDs but if not I'll start one. So much good stuff gets missed by those outside Japan - then again I don't want my wallet to take too much of a pounding so....
Soundgarden - Loudest Love (1990 EP)
Compilations of studio works from Toto's Jeff Porcaro and Steve Lukather....
Green Day - Tune In Toyko.
Oh you're right!
Oíche Chiúin replaces it. Wonder if Stars wasn't finished yet. Pretty rare promo, be neat to track down if it carried anything unique
Debbie Gibson's Ms. Vocalist had her covering popular Japanese songs, only released in Japan. It was eventually released in other countries a few years ago as part of a massive career spanning box set.
There was also a very cool "Great Box" for Big Country (1991) however it would only qualify for this thread if you consider the box set itself as a unique release - the actual contents were the previously released albums with added b-sides and rare tracks.
Those Great Boxes are pretty cool and expensive.
I managed to get a sealed The Mission (UK) a few years ago for a good price, some of the other's are way out of reach, or don't contain any extra's.
Shame the Leppard one didn't come with anything unique.
