I know what you're saying, but the article is based on the Recording Industry of America's mid-year report.

Vinyl was dying at about the same rate 25 years ago. You see how that's turned out.

It was cool to bash vinyl then, just like it's cool to bash CDs now.

Well, I buy records, CD's and digital downloads when necessary. Just about the only thing I don't do is stream.

sorry, when I see RS connected to anything I tend to dismiss it as BS...they are biased in every shape way and form...I can't stand that rag.

I never buy DD unless I get them for free as in Amazon offering free instant DL when you buy the CD...

Gee, could this have not been added to any of the many other "CD is dying" threads out there? This is the second one of these today, with only minor differences.

I'll never understand why a music lover would celebrate the death of a popular format. It stinks. You're not clever for buying Vinyl. There's nothing good about a format that millions of people enjoy being killed off. This time of gloating - and there is gloating here - is some of the worse parts of this web site. If you need your ego stroked in this fashion you have serious issues. Why gloat when a large number of members of this forum are negatively affected?

Come on guys, we can do better than this.

I'm not celebrating anything. I think it's sad. I still buy CD's. I just thought it was interesting. Sorry I posted it!

Like the guy as a guitarist but Jack White's 'savior of the vinyl record' shtick is getting real old.

BTW I have purchased (4) CD box sets in the last month.

I only do downloads when I can't find a physical format or if I don't feel like spending $20 for one song. It's a last resort for me.

Cds are awesome. Besides I just picked up a couple more Zappa 2012 cd remasters at a good price.
