That's what the waveform shows, but the Blu-ray (=BD) doesn't contain the mono album, unlike the 2018 White Album BD.

I'm not sure the WA's mono mix should be on Blu Ray,

It could have been done without the pontificating though.

Dont need to edit the audio if you just go to the info card of the album in iTunes and use the volume adjustment slider.... Even the quietest CDs just need boosting a few notches and then resyc the ipod..

Who is this Wisdom Pickett and is he/she related to Wilson? Can't find him/her anywhere on YT and it's driving me nuts.

As for quiet cds, Ronstadt's Hasten Down The Wind is one.

I've never found it to be an issue. Obviously more prevalent on the earlier CD's manufactured in the 80's. My W.German CD copy of "HARVEST" was quiet as...
I just turned up the volume when listening (or amplified when copying)... If you want to talk about LOW VOLUMES, remember the pre-recorded cassettes we used to buy? The earlier ones on the light brown tape.

Probably the only too-low-in-volume CD I have is Hunting High And Low by A-ha.
Bought it new at a music store. Seems this album never was remastered before the deluxe edition?
Another CD I have, though where I partly believe the volume is too low, is Murmur by R.E.M. (I.R.S. Years reissue). I've read it's the same digital master as the earlier CD(s).
In general it is a bit quiet but still a handful peaks reach the edge (looking via Audacity). Guess it's just a flat transfer.

This video is iZotope Ozone specific, and is about multitracking, but the basic dither info still applies:

I like the old IRS mastering of Murmur.

I pulled up the track in Audition. It looks fine.

Paul's Boutique comes to mind, the first CD.

What's your point? It looks the same as my audacity shot. I say it's still too quiet.

First one to come to mind is Fleetwood Mac's Mirage, original from 1982. It is much lower than most of my other CDs.

No pontificating intended. Just the facts. If it weren't for the compressed CD releases a lot of music would have just drifted by the wayside for the public unable to hear the former releases appropriately.
