Silver Linings Playbook, £1.25 at Mind. I passed on a number of other good titles in the last couple of days, due to high prices.
She reminds me of a girl I used to sit opposite on the bus on the way home from school in 1985. And also, weirdly, I saw the actual Jennifer Lawrence in my local Waitrose a few years back. I thought it was just someone who was the image of her, but apparently she was in the area with her English boyfriend of the time who lived round these parts. Very pretty in her bobble hat and winter coat. EG.
Waitrose! Hark at you. There are no film stars in my local Lidl, I can tell you that much. Unless you count the kid in his karate outfit, who looks a bit like Keith Nash from Paul.
Somehow I was more taken aback to see Jimmy Page waiting around at the entrance to M&S Simply Food one time a few months ago, carrier bag in hand, until his chauffeur arrived. EG.

Fifty pence each in a charity shop this afternoon. Anyone recommend any of these? *The Island* (2005; Scarlett Johansson thriller) *Rush* (2013; about James Hunt vs. Niki Lauda) *Youth* (2015; Michael Caine comedy drama w/Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, Jane Fonda) *Crossroads* (2002; Britney Spears road trip teen drama) *The Untouchables* (1987; Prohibition thriller with K. Costner, S. Connery, R. De Niro) *Dragon Wars* (2007; “They’ve made our world their battleground!”) *The Fighter* (2010; directed by David O. Russell and starring Christian Bale and Amy Adams – all from American Hustle) *About Schmidt* (2002; Jack Nicholson comedy-drama) *Ghost Town* (2008; Ricky Gervais comedy about man who can see ghosts) *Saints and Soldiers* (2003; about Battle of the Bulge, 1944)
I remember seeing "The Island" when it was in theaters-I don't remember too much about it, as that was quite a long time ago, but I do recall that I liked it. "The Untouchables"- I found that one at a thrift store last year, and still haven't watched it (I have a lot of movies to catch up on). I don't remember if my cousin actually seen the film or not, but he'd quote the line from that movie that goes something like "Hey, if a guy messes with me, I'm gonna mess with him." I remember that movie seemed to do pretty good business in the US, in other words it was a hit film, so I'm guessing you might like it.
' The Untouch ables ' isn't a great movie but it is a very watchable movie. Well made , great cast , interesting story. You'll like it.
Not too big of a find: "The Legendary West" (12 Western Film Collection. 3 double sided DVDs, two films per side) "6 Uncommonly Good Westerns" (6 films on two DVDs)
